Add Mark Davies and an average of £20k a week, that's just over £5 million. wow, who wants to own a football club !

From what I saw in that Paderborn game, this thread has a shedload of work to do. Oh and it was 1-1 when I stopped watching the game. I'm guessing second half was much, much worse...

@OfficialBWFC: BREAKING: Darren Pratley has been appointed as the Bolton Wanderers club captain for the 2015/16 season.

@OfficialBWFC: "He's well respected in the dressing room," says the manager on his new captain: http://t.co/uRv8FqCrPK" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Nice idea. Needs a rhyming line to replace "I really love your tiger feet".

* "To repel those wing attacks"?
* "To fill those out-wide cracks"?
* "'Cos White and Mox are lax"?
* "'Cos ours are a pile of cack"?

F*ck me. Darren Pratley. Club Captain.

"Thank you for the days,
Those endless days, those sacred days you gave me.
I'm thinking of the days,
I won't forget a single day, believe me."

Not direct transfer news but Everton will allow Luke Garbutt out on loan. Was Lenny linked with him last season or was it Freedman? Either way, a highly rated young left back. Certainly better than we have at the moment and worth pursuing again?

Tis but two weeks ago that we were linked with two other young Everton defenders, Browning and Galloway. I don't recall a link with Garbutt, although that doesn't mean it didn't happen. He is indeed a highly-rated young left-back, but isn't Andy Kellett?

Prime transfer period and this is what the thread is reduced to. Good grief.
At least it's wittier than Bob's mates from Deane.

This isn't help by the fact that he's clearly going to play 4 at the back, not 3. Still, at least eve put that one to bed.

Well, we'll see. Kind of depends how Lennon's next six months go.
Yes we could be 23rd at Christmas, in which case I think we'll have no problem keeping him!
It'll be lowly this Christmas...

McNaughton's been training with Blackpool this week; could become their ninth summer signing.

From the BN:

Lennon on Kirkland:
Chris came in and asked to train for a couple of days and the goalkeeping coach Lee (Turner) invited him in. I’m not sure it’s going to go any further than that, really. It is a position I am looking to strengthen, and it’s something we need to look at quite soon, really.
(While we're on the subject, keeper coach Turner is apparently moving to Charlton Athletic)

Amos on potential playmates and the pre-season:
Ross [Fitzsimons] has come back looking really sharp – but I can’t speak for the manager and what he has got in mind. To be honest, I’m being a bit selfish and thinking about myself. It’s a big year for me this year. In my mind it’s about how I play and integrate into the team. Pre-season is about fine tuning and getting all those little things right. What happens around you, comings or goings, it shouldn’t affect what you are doing. We were back in fairly early, and it has been a couple of gruelling weeks, really. Pre-season is never something you enjoy but the manager has pushed us all hard and provided we steer clear of any injuries I think it will all work out really well.
Lennon on Heskey signing a new contract:
I’d imagine that will get done when we get back. We’ve freed up some wages and I’d hope that means we’ll be able to bring in some other players as well. I’m sure that will all take care of itself over the next couple of weeks. It doesn’t happen as quickly as people think.

Just saw a SSN report on Seattle Sounders and an interview with Tyrone Mears. Came across well, and said he'd be back in England with family over Christmas and the off season and will be looking for a shirt term deal. Can we dare to dream? First Eidur, now Tyrone?
