No it doesn't; it's Songs of Praise FFS!bobo the clown wrote:I'd take more issue with the BBC execs basically mooning at its audience tbh. It has to be said it's deliberately provocative.Prufrock wrote:Cor, makes you proud to be British doesn't it?
What happened to this country to make people so *hateful* towards these people? A pragmatic "well there's just no room" whilst IMO misguided is understandable, but genuine hatred for people trying to get a better life?
Even by paranoid right-wing standards, the idea that a load of god-bothering choir singers are only going off to do some charitable work as part of a left-wing liberal elite conspiracy to piss off Daily Mail readers seems a bit much.
I just can't see there being much crossover in the Venn diagram between categories: "Songs of Praise viewers" and "frothing at the mouth immigrant bashers".
"Steady on love, don't chuck that copy of the Mail out, I'm going to finish Littlejohn's column after I've blasted out a couple of verses of "O Come All ye Faithful"".

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
How many songs of praise have been from none British locations overseas?
Why are the BBC supporting illegal immigrants? As I understand it unless they have claimed refugee status in France and are being processed they are illegal there, (the fact the French are turning a blind eye to this does not alter anything).
I am still looking and have found no one prepared to put forwards the proportion of able single males to these so called poor families.
The average African male doesn't give two shits about females or kids so the excuse of leaving them behind until later hardly holds water.

Five women have been killed in eastern India by villagers who believed they were witches, according to local officials.
The killings took place in a rural community in the state of Jharkhand, where there are frequent reports of fatal attacks on women who locals say have cast curses that are blamed for poor crops, illness or misfortune. The killings often disguise family feuds or land disputes.
In the latest incident villagers with sticks and knives attacked the five women on Friday night in the town of Kanjia, police officials said.
“The women were dragged out of their home while asleep and beaten to death by the villagers suspecting them to be witches … some were even stoned to death,” said Jharkhand police spokesperson SN Pradhan.
Around 50 villagers were arrested, Pradhan said, adding: “The entire village was involved in the crime.”
Police said the attackers packed the victims’ bodies in sacks and discarded them outside the village boundary, according to witnesses.
A family member of a victim said: “They raided our home shortly past midnight. We prayed for mercy but they hardly listened to our appeal.”
Police said the arrested villagers did not show any remorse. “What can you expect from the society when even educated youths join the angry mob?” said a local lawmaker, Gangotri Kujur, who visited the spot afterwards.
According to Indian government statistics around 2,000 people, almost all women, were killed after being branded witches between 2000 and 2012. Many attacks go unreported, campaigners say.
In July police in the north-eastern state of Assam arrested 16 people after the killing of an alleged witch. Authorities said at least 90 people had been stabbed, burned or killed in other ways over the previous six years in the state.
