I'm just waiting for our Derby supporting friend to get back home and chip in from the other side. Sounded like they missed 3 absolute sitters?

They should have scored with the one that clipped the bar, and could have scored with another two. That said, Heskey should have scored for us. Madine was up gloriously for the two he smacked the bar with (I bet it's still shaking) the first one coming from cross-of-the-day by Lawrie Wilson.

Wait no longer BB, I'm home. :D

Well played today. Fair point on balance I thought?

We were disappointed with our play in the final third - lacked a bit of dynamism, and then when we did make a chance we weren't decisive or clinical. Although credit to your defence for snuffing us out.

Heskey frightened the life out of us for some reason and for a 10 minute spell you had us on toast. God knows how you didn't score...but then how did we manage to bugger it up last minute?

Will Hughes injury has ruined my day, looks like a bad one - although him, Chris Martin and Tom Ince weren't at it really.

Was the sending off fair? Couldn't see from our end - talk about heart in mouth moment!

Also, I'm a long-term fan of Devite anyway, but I reckon that having someone as solid as The Prince next to him meant that he could simply concentrate on his own game today, and to great effect too.

... as an aside, weren't we supposed to have a new video screen ?

wtf ? :conf: :conf:
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

To be honest I'm not his biggest fan but if he can return to the decent form he did show earlier on last season I'm willing to change my mind. Prince slotting in after just a day of training and no time to learn about his new teammates impressed me. He actually impressed me in the interview yesterday as well, decent level of English and seemed a decent intelligent guy. Might be a real find there.

Oh come come, Bobo. They've only had all summer to sort it out!

I know we're skint, but have they really repossessed the television? ;)

Gentlemen, we're skirting with the notion that we may currently have a surfeit of good CB's. Perhaps we should back away from that one for a while? ;)

I'm far more impressed with our scouting efforts under Lennon, with players coming in for trials from all over the place. Be interesting to see if the long term cb pairing even involves Dervite.

Needles, always a pleasure to hear from an even handed true football fan. Thanks for your input fella and good luck for the rest of the season.

Going off what I heard it sounded like a good performance esp Prince and good to hear that Spearing has turned it around, fair play to him...pity about the sending off it seemed harsh. We do appear to enjoy being the underdogs don't we? :)

Isn't that basically our mission statement as a club? We've always been at our best as the underdogs...

Do princes reign? :D

As Bruce notes, we've almost too many. I do hope Moxey turns into a left-back, because we really need overlapping (especially with a narrow diamond midfield) and Ream ain't that. In fact, given I'd like to see Kellett get a go, it's tempting to hope QPR come back in for Ream - not that I've anything against him, but with five senior centre-backs plus young uns like Holding/Finney/Threlkeld, we might not miss a head there.

(Although actually: Prince is younger than Quade Taylor...)
Finney 6 June 1996 (19)
Threlkeld 15 December 1994 (20)
Prince 24 December 1993 (21)
Taylor 11 December 1993 (21)
Derik 21 February 1993 (22)
Dervite 25 July 1988 (27)
Ream 5 October 1987 (27)
Wheater 14 February 1987 (28)

Ream didn't even make the squad today, Barnetto, so there could well be some fire to the QPR smoke.

Ream is injured. Was spotted in the week with strapping on his knee. Though Lennon says it is a thigh strain.

Came back from the States with a dead leg. And Neil had specifically requested a bag of Hershey's chocolate kisses.
