Anyway ... I just read that there cannot be an appeal so done & dusted. Any suspension will apply for the Burton game so less of an issue.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Ram Bam, Thank You Ma'am. Derby match thread
My personal opinion at the time was that he was waiting for contact from the defender to go down, this never arrived and so as he'd left himself completely off balance he fell over.throwawayboltonian wrote:I'm inclined to agree. When I was following the beeb I was fuming that he was reckless enough to dive on a yellow and get sent off, until I checked here to see people say that he'd gone down and hadn't appealed. Having seen the highlights I'm inclined to agree that he simply went down due to poor body shape and/or fatigue.boltonboris wrote:In realtime you'd think differently. As he burst through his head was down and he clearly just fell forwards in that force of gravity type way when your body shape isn't right. I think Spearing, who hasn't got a left foot, went down far too easily. Or, in old money, "dived".
Put it this way: had Ince gone down after that much contact from Dervite, we'd have been crucifying him.
Also thank you for reminding me about the existence of that video, nice little pick me up before I set off to work

Going off the great wisdom of the internet i'd assumed that Will Hughes had been clattered by one of our guys for his injury. Just seen it on the previous page. How can anyone see that as anything other than rotten luck?
Hope he recovers well.

Is anyone suggesting otherwise ? Maybe some fans initially but not still ?KeyserSoze wrote:Going off the great wisdom of the internet i'd assumed that Will Hughes had been clattered by one of our guys for his injury. Will Hughes out for 6 months with damage to his ACL. Shame. Hope me makes a full recovery.

Lennon in the BN:
I thought the attitude, intensity and application was fantastic and the quality was there in abundance at times. We are all very pleased.
At the end of the game you saw the reaction from the crowd and that’s exactly what we are trying to create here. I thought we got a second wind. We didn’t really create a lot in the first half and were looking to make changes. But they galvanised themselves and found a little bit more. Towards the end we were certainly the stronger team. I was really pleased we created really good chances.
In (Gary) Madine I thought we had a real threat for the whole 90 minutes – I thought he was brilliant. He is fantastic in the air and his link-up play is very good. If you add goals to that we have a very good player on our hands.
I thought it was a remarkable performance from Prince. He came in on Thursday and didn’t train really because we were still waiting clearance from Atalanta in terms of insurance. He just did some fitness work then had a light training session on Friday.
In the meantime you have all these things going on in his head in terms of negotiations, getting international clearance, staying in the hotel with his family and so everything was up in the air for him. Then he has to go out and play against one of the best teams in the Championship and I thought he was absolutely fantastic.
(Dean) Moxey played probably his best game under me; Lawrie (Wilson) was very steady defensively and Dorian (Dervite) has just carried on from pre-season when he was probably our best player.
I think having natural full-backs helps. We have been after a right-back for a while and Lawrie knows we are looking to strengthen that position again in terms of competition for him. He understands that and knows his way around the position and he will get better as the season goes on.

That's a shame. Whether it a player of ours or someone else's.throwawayboltonian wrote:Yeah, all the best to him. It's clear on the video that he simply slipped and twisted his knee. I guess it can happen to anyone.

Stop bumping into her then!!throwawayboltonian wrote:Exactly, and it's a shame when it does. Holden never recovered, Gardner was never the same player (and injury prone) afterwards, Wheater looks the same way as Riccy since his popped. The only player I can recall (recently at least) bouncing back for us from an ACL injury is Jussi shortly after he first joined. Pretty much the same at other clubs, and in other sports. Former colleague of mine did hers in last year and she still limps around when I bump into her around site; shame as she was quite a promising gymnast.bobo the clown wrote:That's a shame. Completely agree though, wouldn't wish that injury on anyone.

SSN now reporting Pratley out for 'weeks'. I'm getting tired of supposedly minor injuries turning into big ones. Story of last season.
Then, if players are injured at half time and our manager pushes them back out there to show they are up for it, we can expect more of the same.

Out till international break. Which is 5 games. Better than the long term injuries we had last season. We are bound to pick up some, but at least so far nothing is hugely serious. Touch wood.LeverEnd wrote:SSN now reporting Pratley out for 'weeks'. I'm getting tired of supposedly minor injuries turning into big ones. Story of last season.

Aye, but hes vitally important to how Lennon wants to play - Can;t help bu think it'll be Trotter taking his place..Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I like Prats but central midfield is hardly a thin areaBWFC_Insane wrote:Out till international break. Trotter is out for a while with a hamstring injury...
Re: Ram Bam, Thank You Ma'am. Derby match thread
Yes, I literally meant that Pratley was crying and holding his ankle while a stony faced Lennon physically manhandled him out of the dressing room door and onto the pitch.CAPSLOCK wrote:That's quite a leap from Lennons quotes on the issueLeverEnd wrote:SSN now reporting Pratley out for 'weeks'. The ligament damage was done in the challenge. Would playing on have made any difference to subsequent swelling and period out? You are safely able to walk after knee ligament damage for example. Even play on in some cases. It doesn't make it worse or make the period out longer.

He had strained his ankle ligamentsLeverEnd wrote:Yes, I literally meant that Pratley was crying and holding his ankle while a stony faced Lennon physically manhandled him out of the dressing room door and onto the pitch.CAPSLOCK wrote:That's quite a leap from Lennons quotes on the issueLeverEnd wrote:SSN now reporting Pratley out for 'weeks'. He felt able to carry on
It turns out the strain was greater than realised
It happens
