This thing about airport shops requiring you to show your boarding passes so they can claim the VAT back and not pass it on to you, dear customer...I genuinely thought it was something security related (coz if memory serves, they sneaked it in on the back of some sort of security "thing". I'm thinking of booking a flight somewhere, just so I can tell them to fcuk right off. Robbing bastards,

No if you read it you'd find they were protesting about not getting paperwork quick enough to wander off into the rest of the EU and Calais!
Anyway why not hold them in a safe environment? After all they have to protect tourists, those who actually contribute to their islands.

They were complaining about being locked up for an extended period of time in a stadium with no access to medical treatment and that for the thousands of people there were only 3 police people there to register them.

I'd say that complaint is nowhere near "special treatment". Perhaps it is just me....

Think we've all fallen for this one Worthy. There was talk of encourging everyone to refuse to show in during their next purchases but I suppose they'd just refuse to serve you. Imagine going long haul without a newspaper or crisp new paperback?
