Gents, what's the deal with Parkrun.

How much notice/ signing up do they need? Only I'm thinking of it being a back-up this season if our games on a Saturday are rained off/ we have a free week. Get a few down, breakfast after and then a day in the pub. If it's not called off til Fri eve is that still doable?

Sign up now sir. Today. Get your bar code printed off and you're good to go any Saturday morning you see fit. It's such a simple yet brilliant concept. Love park run

You can register and print your barcode at 8.55am and be running at 9am. Do it!

From what i recall, you just sign up - there's no obligation, you don't sign up for individual parkruns. Signing up will give you your unique barcode, which will be used to get your time after the race. When you have barcode, you can just turn up to whichever parkrun you fancy.

Cheers guys. So if I get the f*ckers signed-up nice and early with barcodes they'll have no excuses to be ready any weekend?

Can you track your times over time, say over the course of a season, to see who's letting themselves go  ?

The site keeps every record available, Pru. By year, by all time, by average and so on. It'll be good to see you at LHP if you're back up. Prepare yourself for breakfast ;)

There ain't a lot to catch up tbh. 2k jog last night is all I've done in the last 2 weeks.

Lindsay tried one of the yorkshire's on Saturday. It bore a strong resemblance to cardboard and apparently tasted of the same.

Blimey. Is she pregnant again? :D

Last Saturday's PR was all I've done in the past two weeks, and boy didn't my legs remind me?! A couple of laps of the local park tonight, I reckon, Nike+ or no.

Not the biggest athletics fan but switched in the World Championships Final. V glad to see Bolt beat Gatlin.

Yup. But Gatling, Powell, Gay and one other from that final have been banned from the sport for doping offences. 4 of the 8. That have actually been caught.

Here's hoping Coe can get some rigour back in.

First game of 11-a-side in about eight or nine months done. In 30c heat.

Goosed. But we won 5-0 so that's ok. Though having a left mid who didn't move from a area of space about a third of the way into the oppo's half didn't help.

Why not ?

That's either idle or a fundamental belief that this was his space and he should stick with it.

Are you the "wise one" who understands the game or the know-nothing limey ?

I wasn't clear ... I meant "why does he not leave that area" ?

Does he belief his job is to stay in that zone and convinced he's doing a great job, or is he lazy ?
