It was indeed one of life's most fondly remembered trips. AND that reminds me to sort tickets out.

Earth vs. The Wildhearts
The Wildhearts must be destroyed
P.H.U.Q.
Chutzpah!
The Wildhearts (check out Rooting for the Bad Guy. In my opinion as good as TV Tan)
These are the most accessible Wildhearts albums. Do not, under any circumstances, listen to Endless, Nameless. It's shit.

Oh, Fishing for Luckies and Fishing for more Luckies.
You'll like them all but crowd pleasing standards are My Baby is a Headfuck, Everlone, Sky Babies, Greetings from Shitsville, Splattermania and the best, the very best song for getting us Wildies going, is 29 X The Pain.
Welcome to The Wildhearts. You lucky bastards.

I won't be tuning in tonight because i'm busy, but i'll be sure to catch this on the iPlayer.

Hopefully AWVFTS will be performing in Manchester for the first time towards the end of the year. I've seen them in London & Brussels so far this year so it'd make a nice change to see them in my hometown!

Not sure that I'd want to see them live, but some lovely stuff to have playing in the house there, Doc.Dr Hotdog wrote:I won't be tuning in tonight because i'm busy, but i'll be sure to catch this on the iPlayer.

Aye, got one of their records. Blissful.
Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.
Re: What are you playing tonight?
Aye I can see your point. They are very lovely. I've only seen them at gorgeous seated venues and it's been a treat both times. I imagine it'd be pretty special to see them at the Albert Hall in London. It's all about the atmosphere! I need to get hold of their LPs.Bruce Rioja wrote:Not sure that I'd want to see them live, but some lovely stuff to have playing in the house there, Doc.Dr Hotdog wrote:I won't be tuning in tonight because i'm busy, but i'll be sure to catch this on the iPlayer.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
One thing to look forward to on the long drive back from a meeting darn sarf, is that there'll be something funny coming on R4 at 18:30. How disappointing it is when that 'something funny' simply isn't. Something called Sketchorama that was on this evening purported to be a window for Britain's finest up-and-coming comedy sketch writers. Heaven help us.

Saw this article today - band members from 2005 and what they're doing now.
http://www.nme.com/features/10-years-on ... -doing-now" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
always interesting seeing them lead 'normal' lives now. Also got me listening to the Long Blondes again, and what a loss to music their unfortunate break up was. Hope the guitarist is doing well.
