At one point in open play during the second half he had an 'Oh, fek,' moment when he suddenly realised he was our furthest forward player and had somehow ended up in a centre forward position. I've never seen him move so fast as he scampered back to the safety of his own half of the pitch.

Knight had an excellent game tonight, real energy and commanding.

Wheater looked a liability early on but grew into it.

If Ream is any good my choice would be him and Knight.

But I see no need to change a team that is taking us forward.

I think you are consistent in your attitude to knight, but consistently unfair.
Not entirely true. I'd love to see Knight consistently stay awake for 90 mins.I'm sure in the short term Knight/Wheater will be the pairing but in the long term I think it becomes either/or simply because they both lack pace. For me I'd take Wheater ahead of Knight because he attacks the ball better in both penalty areas , passes the ball better and gives the impression of being commited(Knight may be commited but comes across as very laid back which when things are going wrong can be frustrating).
Knight is in his 30s and wont get any quicker, nor will his awareness /reading the game improve . That's why I suggest he wont be here next year.If he stays then I'd back him like I would any Bolton player.

gotta agree with William (as i also said in my match-thoughts) - nowt much wrong with Knight's performance last night - he doesn't deserve slagging for that....

if you dropped all the Premiership CB's who now and again got skinned by Arsenal's pace and movement - there would be none left.... (including Cahill)

In all honesty I missed chunks of the game due to dodgy streams so I may well have missed many of Knight's better moments.I had a decent stream early on and saw a few good chances where players ran off the back of knight. Possibly Ricketts could have covered inside or given him a shout. Not about just one game though and I'd still at present take Wheater ahead of Knight for the reasons I mentioned earlier. If Knight played a blinder last Knight and goes on to play blinders to the end of the season then I'll be happy to be wrong.

What a shame. When I was watching Bury on Tuesday it became pretty obvious that with the way they play they are desperate for an SKD type up top, rather than the lightweights that were up there, and it crossed my mind that it wouldn't surprise me to hear SKD having signed for them for a year.

Still, he's on the telebox now and maybe that must be where he sees his long-term future?!

Thanks for everything Kev.
May the bridges I burn light your way

always sad when the inevitable happens

Great player for the wanderers, one of the iconic players of the best period we ever had

Wish him nothing but the best for the future and will attend his testimonial if it ever happens

A genuine Bolton hero. “But the people in Bolton took to me straight away and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
Best of luck and long may you stay around.

^^ " Why do you treat me like this ?"

" because I don't like you !"

That'll do.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".
