Or, why not make an extra 100 posts and end on 2399 rather than 2299?2399 wrote:This is me 2100th Post!!!

Grant Shapps's signature... I make no further comment....
Re: General Chit Chat
"Cunty" is one of his aliases.
He didn't make any money under that name though. That's important to remember.

I like how he's addressed his letter to Dear Peatree. I'll bet the people at the peartree were chuffed with that.
Also, I think just the name 'Grant Shapps' says it all. The cnut. Sounds like a bounder from a chicklit book.

2399 posts; a fitting grand farewell to an annoyance of an account!

Germans in finding it easier to seek forgiveness than seek permission shocker
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

The current top guy looks set to bite the dust ... but he's only been at the top 5 months. It depends how long he's known/ how deeply implicated he is.
I know from live experience in the car industry that this unit & its programming will have to have had involved a lot of people, right across the spectrum. You can't alter a single thing in car production without all sorts of permissions.
This has required the initial thought, proposal, trials, agreement, development, manufacture and fitting. Properly amazing stuff.
"Made in Germany" isn't going to carry the clout it used to.
VW manufacture VW, Audio, SEAT, Skoda, Bentley, Porche, Buggatti & Lambourgini. While some of those aren't that big on diesel the big units are. It could, literally, destroy the business.
See how viciously the Yanks treated BP (not least to routinely begin to call it BRITISH Petroleum all of a sudden) following the Gulf oil incident. They routinely lose out to European and Asian manufacturers nowadays. This could be seen as a great way to kill a major competitor off.
"Vorsprung Durk Technik" & all that.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
