Are you suggesting Lennon out?BWFC_Insane wrote:Wilson isn't the main problem. We have nobody in the side who is likely to score more than 5 goals a season. Most don't score any whatsoever.
And we have a very lightweight midfield.
Those problems were apparent last season and haven't been fixed. Instead we've stockpiled full backs. I'm sick of Lennon banging on about a goal scorer because whilst one would be absolutely great he has signed players who either aren't good enough or most criminally just luxuries we didn't really need. In all the singings he's left the main weaknesses there and actually made us worse up front than last season even ignoring Le Fondre.

Lennon has not done a great job. But he needed full backs, which have been our weakness for a while now. No problem there, Wilson is a very average player who started well but was shown up badly today. Can't believe anoyone thinks that he is the answer for the season. So he got another. Ream left, Moxey was playing well, he got a cheap back up.None of this is a problem. Giving Dobbie and Madine a contract IS a problem, both are fecking useless.
The striker signing is the difference between staying up or not, as we are right now we will go down and deserve to.

Which chances, assists and goals are these, Dave? I can barely recall a player that puts the ball into the box so poorly. He's a modern day Michael Brown. Plenty of haring it down the wing but his final ball is atrocious. He either hits the first defender, puts it too close to the keeper, or balloons in 10 yards over everybody.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: Perhaps it's because no matter how many times he provides chances, assists and goals, he gets criticised.
I'm sure that no-one's questioning his work ethic, but his delivery is awful!

That last post could be about a number of our players. I'd be sending wellington back to Arsenal. Utter dross

Hasn't he scored twice this season? I seem to remember a game last season when he got a hat-trick of assists.Bruce Rioja wrote:Which chances, assists and goals are these, Dave? Haven't got time atm to do it properly but from watching the stats he's been responsible for creating more chances than the vast majority
Obviously I'm well aware that qualitatively he can look awful but quantitatively if you remove his input we'd be a lot more awful
In other words there are others who might well be more to blame than poor old Liam
(Maybe it's that forename, association with Trotter and Gallagher?)

TBF to our much derided leading scorer, Feeney is on course to reach double figures this season. He's already bagged as many as the rest of the team put together.BWFC_Insane wrote:We have nobody in the side who is likely to score more than 5 goals a season.

Oh, I'm sure we would, but if you do get chance to get the stats up then I'd honestly be more interested in his own success v cock up rate.

^^ It is indeed. So what does that say about the rest of them?

Feeney is shite, average league 1 player at best - but then again so are some of our other players.
Re: No Nonsense... 'Uddersfield (A) 19/Sep/15
The thing is, they're probably all that we can afford to sign. Even if we had put aside more of our budget for a striker, we would still be scraping around looking for the best free transfer we could find. There can't be a lot in the way of good goalscorers in that market.LeverEnd wrote:Giving Dobbie and Madine a contract IS a problem, both are fecking useless.

Lennon most probably thought his best chance of getting a capable goalscorer for this level was on loan. At a guess, I'd say James Wilson, for instance, would be better than anyone we could sign on a permanent basis.

Imagine not having enough money to sign Championship standard players and then them not being good enough for the championship.
I for one, am shocked!!
In all seriousness, either back him or lock the doors and throw the keys down a grid

He's a bit of a problem, though, and an easily solvable problem.BWFC_Insane wrote:Wilson isn't the main problem. We have nobody in the side who is likely to score more than 5 goals a season. Most don't score any whatsoever.

The lack of goals is a harder problem to solve.

Also we needed to completely replace the back 4.. If I look through your posting history, which I'm not going to, I bet I'll find a post by you saying that he needed to at some point last season.
He's done that and took a punt on a cheap, youngish striker which unfortunately hasn't worked out.
To criticise him for getting defensive numbers in as a bit ridiculous and snacks of damned if you do, damned if you don't. Two individual 45 minutes aside, the defence has clearly been in better shape than previous seasons.
If Eddie finds the own for his cheque book, we'll be reet (and don't come to me about FFP, because that argument is a lie by the clubs hierarchy)

But that's my point. He sorted the back four then went and signed two full backs for cover. I doubt that Pisano was that cheap. I get we needed cover but a cover full back is easier to find in the loan window than a couple of players who will get you goals. Vela is doing nowt and could cover right back if needed.boltonboris wrote:Also we needed to completely replace the back 4..
