I dont pretend to understand business finance, I'm just happy you all feel things are fine and don't see the vultures circling. No one else seems to be that confident, but hey, time will tell and all that. I'm almost past caring as things stand.

Nobody is confident things are ok. Just that administration makes zero sense for Eddie Davies who ultimately is the owner of the club and major creditor.Bijou Bob wrote:I dont pretend to understand business finance, I'm just happy you all feel things are fine and don't see the vultures circling. Worryingly, I think not. The business case is so clear, anyone should be able to walk into the bank and convince them to back it.....Surprised JSW hasn't done it himself. It's like having your own printing press at the bottom of the garden in the shed as evidenced by the long queue of people wanting their own chance to take it over and make off like a bandit.bobo the clown wrote:You really are just doing this for the wind-up aren't you !?jetsetwilly wrote:Eddie has not spent 180m. He only has 60m. He has made a good profit from bwfc. The money owed is profit. He accepts 30m for a sale. He can make that by selling the stadium and training ground. How hard is this? If bwfc go bust he makes a tidy sum

I'm astounded at how few people get this. Eddie has not spent 180m he never had this amount. He has gone on record as saying he would sell the club for 30m. This is the amount he wants to take away with him. If he can't sell it (which he can't) then the only way to get his money back is to sell the ground etc. He can't do that while bwfc exist. Bwfc going into administration then being wound up would result in the assets being sold off to pay the main creditor (eddie).

OK. You're an idiot.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

He's not. Whenbwfc go into administration I cant wait to club together with the lads and buy a ground with no football team in existence to lease it to. I think I'll set up a sunday league team.

I reckon the Horwich branch of the world tiddlywinks association will be all over the administrators begging to buy that stadium.

Well, unless we have a whip-round on here and can raise the necessary, I don't think that there's much more we can do.
This whole thing is reminding me of the era of the Greaves, Anderson, Mulhall slide. It's like Lennon's the new McGovern, both were charged with saving a club in freefall with nowt and seemingly failing the task.
How long before Lenny's traipsing around non-league grounds?

No longer the case I believe.BWFC_Insane wrote:Firstly they could sell them without administration.jetsetwilly wrote:Dear me. How difficult is this. Bwfc go bust. Burnden Leisure have no tenancy. BL sell macron and euxton. Simple
Secondly an administrator would be handling the assets not Burnden Leisure.
And as I understand it, Burnden Leisure is the entity that would have to enter administration. Accounts are filed as Burnden leaisure if I recall correctly.
We file accounts under "Bolton Wanderers Football and Athletic company ltd" and this is 'linked' to Burnden Leisure, but doesntt cover all of the clubs activities - Only the football side of things
In the linked account, BWFC are showing -£175,434,470 of shareholder funds against a turnover of £30,642,186 and a pre-tax profit of -£9,136,152
Burnden Leisure show, -£159,514,000 of shareholder funds against a turnover of £38,360,000 and a pre-tax profit of -£6,533,000
Burnden leisure is the ultimate company that 'owns' everything from the hotel, to the community trusts etc

He has or at least has had assets totaling around £400m.jetsetwilly wrote:I'm astounded at how few people get this. Eddie has not spent 180m he never had this amount. He's infinitely wealthier than people think. He (and the club) has been quite good at keeping his wealth a secret for fear of having to plough more and more in

I'm not saying that Jetsetwilly is right, because he's not, but arenas, stadia and football club grounds can and have been sold.

Nearly right - the ultimate parent company is Fildraw Private Trust Company Limited...boltonboris wrote:No longer the case I believe.BWFC_Insane wrote:Firstly they could sell them without administration.jetsetwilly wrote:Dear me. On the other part, folks seem to be taking a view that ED's "private worth" was what he got from selling Strix back in black and white. Clearly no other business interests since then have generated a bean and he's just lobbed everything he had into Bolton...

If Eddie wants to sell the ground and training ground, to get some money back and then he can and will. But I don't see why he would put the club into administration to do so, because that would mean he gets a smaller chunk of any sale. That is the illogical part of the argument in my view.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I'm not saying that Jetsetwilly is right, because he's not, but arenas, stadia and football club grounds can and have been sold.

And I'm not disagreeing. Administration doesn't help him in any way whatsoever, I was merely pointing out that there are other potential customers apart from the Westhaughton Tiddlywinks Assoc.BWFC_Insane wrote:If Eddie wants to sell the ground and training ground, to get some money back and then he can and will. It'd be insane.
And to go into administration means you hand the running of the business to, well 'administrators, who before you are allowed to default on any debts make you sell off any assets very quickly, for what can be immediately raised (hence the term 'fire sale'). It's madness to imagine ED would do that to himself. I'm not even sure it'd be legal, in detail.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
