Missed Saturday's Parkrun so did my usual route round here in constant driving rain instead. A really nice thing happened at around the 4K mark - a couple of ladies who were with a youngster and who for some reason were out walking in it stopped to give me a little round of applause as I ran passed them. It cheered me up sufficiently that I ran 6K rather than 5K (And didn't dissolve either ;) )

feck off! They were probably impressed that such an elderly bloke was out running in this weather.

Went out this evening and ran 9k according to my Nike+, which I think needs to be recalibrated. Probably nearer to 8.25k. Happy with that and due to make a reappearance at this week's PR. As long as it isn't raining!

Works do in Burnley (fecking Black Eye Friday in Burnley - some people just don't think things through) until 12:30.

And for that reason I'm out.

Wankers. To a man!

In answer to the original question, yes I will be there. LE will be there for breakfast I believe, but not to run. Someone has to represent the forum in this inclement weather! Lightweights.

First post calf injury PR yesterday. Took my time and went around in 30:01 which I was slightly disappointed with but glad to get around. The good news is that my calves feel fine today, so I can step up my distances again. I wasn't happy that the week that I ran, the bloody rain held off. My chance to dispel the myth was missed. Gutted!

The BBC site forecast rain all day. It was raining when I woke up and on the drive there. Honest!

Well done on the run. Your time will come down quickly once you're back in the routine.

And so long as it stays dry.

Managed 18 miles this morning over Rivington and Belmont. The furthest I've ran in over 4 years. Never got beyond plodding really and was out well over 3 hours. Very happy right now but by God I'm sore

Early morning run out of the way, I suppose I'd better make a start on this Christmas business then. Do any of you know the schedule for Parkruns over the festive period, by the way?
