/\ Pretty much agree with every point with Bruce above. /\

Holding was superb. Moxey improving with each game (bar one or two small issues), Wheater was probably motm for me. Prince, the less said the better. How many more times is he gonna cost us? We had to work hard for our goals, theirs were gift-wrapped. Tis the season.

The change of Clough off for Heskey was a stroke of absolute lunacy.
Danns couldn't get into the intensity as a sub. Sometimes Fresh Legs is a misnomer but both Spearing and Clough were out of gas so a change was needed. We failed the control the game - this is because we swapped like for like. Heskey's foul was a 'take one for the team' because it was in a dangerous passage, not sure who was at fault, the wall or Amos, or if it was just a terrific free kick.

I genuinely think Pratley is as bad a choice for captain as Z.Knight. Turning circle of a double decker. Totally one-footed and just not very good in a midfield 4. He a poor man's Kevin Nolan. We aren't playing to his strengths (we would have to with Nolan on the pitch) because we don't have the personal to provide. So drop him. Shame Vela got injured I guess, we don't have the depth.

As an aside - because I've just discovered the tab I left open while researching them there facts about narrow defeats and so on - before today, Brighton had played 21 league games, drawn 10 (same as us) and won 11 by one goal. They hadn't won any by more than one goal, or lost any at all. Fine margins...

And that, Mr barnet, is why I don't get hyperbole.

I get the passion thing, but for me, the difference between success and failure isn't much.

Just snuck a look at the table and the spread in goal difference between the clubs between 6th and 18th is 7 goals.

Between Ipswich in 6th and Preston in 16th it's 2.

We're definitely good enough to stay up. But if we keep on making stupid mistakes (and this includes Lennon subbing Clough for Heskey to go along with Prince's aberration) we've no chance.

After months away, Lennon brought Clough off because he'd played 80 minutes on Tuesday and 80 highly successful minutes today. We have Rotherham next Saturday and Blackburn two days later (as well as Huddersfield six days later). He's not Steve fecking Austin, mate!!!

I'm not saying I disagree with subbing him, but if you're gonna take him off with 10 minutes go, at least try and protect our lead by filling up the midfield or something. We were sitting on our second win in 30 games (or something daft), so it was a bit of a gamble to chuck another striker on.

No one has tanked us this season, and we have been very unlucky in quite a few games! But we can't keep gifting a goal or 2 start in games. Fine margins as stated, but a good solid back 4 is worth its weight in gold frankincense and myrrh! Defensively we seem very poor and get opened up early on far too easily! Fulham must have thought Santa was playing for us today, same as Reading! Early Xmas presents for all! :conf:

Echoing others I felt that a draw was a fair result. 3 times they tore us apart in the first half and couldn't finish. Having said that, at 2-1 we should have had enough to see the game out. Second half we were a different team, with Mavies playing further up the pitch and taking responsibility for moving the ball forward. Gutted we didn't get the 3 points, but for some reason, I still think we can get out of this. It'll take new owners and investment in January, so fingers crossed.

On another note, I can't ever remember driving to the ground and seeing the surrounding roads so quiet. Just 4 people walking up past Barnstormers and the back of Tesco looked like there'd been a zombie apocalypse at 2.30pm. Just out of interest, did anyone take up the marvellous offer from the club advertised at half time? Spend a hundred quid at the club shop and get 2 free tickets to the next match. Quite feckin remarkable.

Subs when you're winning, a Bolton manager's guide:

Replace striker with midfielder: you are Gary Megson and your defeatist attitude is killing the club
Replace striker with striker: you are Owen Coyle and your hopeless optimism is killing the club

:D :) :? :(

(Of course, the real answer is: we don't care if you replace a striker with a cardboard cutout of Dolly Parton AS LONG AS WE KEEP THE SODDIN' LEAD!!!!)

For me Amos was at fault for their second goal, small wall, in height, and Amos stood at the extreme left hand side of his goal opening up 7 yards to his right.

The offer is at Currys, not the club shop tbf. But, yeah the point stands!

Exactly the opposite coming from mine and Willster's direction. Took yonks. I thought that the weight of traffic had possibly led to there being a queue of around 300 people outside the ticket office at 14:55.

No doubt shopping at Middlebrook! I was surprised to see the crowd announced as 14k+. I guess they count all of the missing ST holders?

We played well in patches and actually look like we have goals in this side with Clough. I'm not 100% convinced we're nailed on for relegation, apart from the big four/five no one has impressed me in this division. Very much of a muchness. So getting a run together is not infeasible imo. But we have to win games like this and charlton for us to survive(and realistically we could have). Add 4 points to our total and we're back in the mix.

Forgot to mention, our second goal is why I'm glad to see the back of Fulham's new No.1

I thought the gate looked relatively healthy on Saturday tbh and definitely looked better than normal.

The gate for Brentford was apparently +12k. Looked to be about 8k though if no less
