Aye but who will take the decision on an appointment? I just wanted new owners to come in and get rid then make a positive appointment.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Actually, no. This is salvational. Could lead to the oldest player stepping up to become manager. That'd be Heskey

Sorry, can't help there. I'm still sitting on the panic fanny fence between glum and morose. I don't think these new owners exist, not until administration comes along anyway.BWFC_Insane wrote:Aye but who will take the decision on an appointment? I wonder if Jose fancies keeping his hand in for a couple of weeks, on a voluntary basis so as not to harm his Chelsea pay off..........

The headline is complete bollocks to start with... Any investigation is to do with:
Making illegal threatening statements.
Lying about reporting Blackmail to the police.
Using club facilities/revenues to his own benefit.

And bring in who? Steve Wigley? We're toxic, mate. They need to understand that, and I'm guessing that they might.BWFC_Insane wrote:Iles reckons club are looking to see if there are grounds for breach of contract and sacking.

Well, unless the contract states "you will not shag youngish local women ... & especially not ones with big, publicity hungry, orifices" probably not. That she's blabbed and brought the club's name into it is unhelpful for him.BWFC_Insane wrote:Iles reckons club are looking to see if there are grounds for breach of contract and sacking.

The stuff about her being around at the club hotel isn't good, but if people knew & ignored it may mean it was effectively tolerated.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Dirty boy!
From that BN story, though:
"It is thought Lennon, who has a son with long-term partner Irene McCloy and lives at Markland Hill, Bolton, is unlikely to be present at a press conference later this week to preview the Boxing Day game against Rotherham United.
Wanderers have said he will not be commenting on the matter.
It is not yet known whether Lennon or his assistant Garry Parker, who was also mentioned in the story, will be at the match against one of Wanderers’ closest rivals in the relegation fight."

Course, even if they binned Lennon, they'd still have to pay off Garry Parker and Steve Walford, who presumably haven't done anything sackable, or at least in breach of contract... (Legal note: not that Lennon has been proven to have done so either...)

It doesn't matter whether it states that^. What it certainly won't state is that he can threaten people or falsely blackmail them.bobo the clown wrote:Well, unless the contract states "you will not shag youngish local women ... & especially not ones with big, publicity hungry, orifices" probably not. Re: Dirty boy!
Thinking about this, my first reaction was, a non statement.
However more I consider it, the more I think it sounds like the club want an excuse to get rid if there is a possible one there. Otherwise they'd surely just ignore this. I mean what can they investigate? The affair is neither here nor there contracturally. Any of the breaking the law allegations would need something far beyond a club enquiry. So all they could use here is that he wined and dined her, so to speak, on club time. Which as someone says, if he did was surely not a secret?
Either it is the most pointless investigation ever, or they want an excuse.
Iles reckons he won't be doing the press conference before the next game and might not be in the dugout either pending the investigation result.
I reckon he's safe though unless they can find a cast iron guarantee they can make something stick that will cost them nowt...they won't risk compensation.

Aye, the concept of gold diggers has completely vanished now we're in the 2010's...TonyDomingos wrote:Whereas, he saw her as what? The love of his life?bobo the clown wrote:She seems a love as well. You wonder whether she didn't always see him as a gravy train.
Anyway. It's a lesson to all of you out there.
It's the 21st century, lads; you're allowed a more sophisticated view of women than in the 1970s.

That first question at 56 secs is genuinely one of my favourite comedy moments. It's such a perfect joke.

I'm astounded you still want to blame this on the young woman involved rather than the 40-odd year old serial adulterer.bobo the clown wrote:Well, unless the contract states "you will not shag youngish local women ... & especially not ones with big, publicity hungry, orifices" probably not. Bruce / LLS - the damned were a bit mediocre tonight. Comedy gold - as ever - but a little bit going through the motions. That said, New Rose, Neat Neat Neat & Smash It Up were class.
