I'm glad it panned out like that. Neil Lennon is no more to me than any other manager except it's Bolton he's managing. . They are there to do a job and their personal lives are nothing to do with that except if the commitee feels they reflect on the club. Obviously, they don't so that's an end to it.

I'm not disputing the tone of what you have written, just pointing out that factually when you state that his personal actions don't reflect on the club, the club's statement that they have dealt with the matter details of which will remain private tells me that his actions did reflect on the club but sanctions/actions have been implemented to stem the damage.

Not that simple really. It might be that there was simply nothing that would stick to enable them to sack him without potential compensation. In fact I'd put money on that being the case. Rather than any positive decision of support. Especially as the statement offers no positive support nor does it suggest that internally Lennon has been cleared.

They COULD have taken him down the "bringing the club into disrepute" line. They could have gone for the simple fact that he's not been there 2 years yet ... though his notice (possible as much as a year) may then still be due. They could have gone for "loss of trust & faith".

If they'd wanted him out he'd be gone.

So ... it MAY be that they investigated and found no case to answer.

Y'know. Just possibly.

Nah. I've no great appetite for managerial change till the club is sorted out. I do think that nobody appointed could do any worse though.

In which case why didn't they say so?

I don't think so. They weren't going to risk any form of compensation or salary being due. I think they were just seeing if there was anything provable that would stick.

Just my view.

I've just given you 2 ways they could have got him out with a very good chance of no cost. If they don't think they'd stick then ... for this at least ... there's no clear grounds to sack him. So, therefore, to sack him for these events (or non events) would have been wrong.

Or is that complicated ?

Lennon has previous in Scotland with this behaviour he has a child to a girl from Kilmarnock and sent her an E-mail warning her to keep her mouth shut to the press about it or he would sort her out ,the guy is a chancer.

^^ Didn't run very well then did he ? Still being in the same taxation nation. Especially as his other option was in the Middle East.

For all we know, he could be very good at separating his personal issues from his day-to-day work.

If he does bugger chickens, though, I'd definitely rather not know.
That is the problem he brought bad publicity to his last club who privately could not get shot of him quick enough, my info is his republican views caused trouble in Scotland and he caused the referees strike up there with his continual complaining, i think we should get shot cause lets face it what has he done for us.

Since we're on a downward spiral with the quality of players perhaps we're only employing league 1 standard HR types?

Quite.

No wonder we're in trouble.
