For all we know, he could be very good at separating his personal issues from his day-to-day work.
If he does bugger chickens, though, I'd definitely rather not know.

His republican views? Did he, has he, ever spoken publicly on his political views?standardbar wrote:That is the problem he brought bad publicity to his last club who privately could not get shot of him quick enough, my info is his republican views caused trouble in Scotland and he caused the referees strike up there with his continual complaining, i think we should get shot cause lets face it what has he done for us.Jugs wrote:What Lennon gets up to is his own funeral. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Difficult to say if it was rushed: thanks to the club's opaque communications, we don't even know precisely what was being investigated.throwawayboltonian wrote:Regardless of stance on this issue, this seems a very rushed investigation considering it's been less than two days since they started it (publicly at least). I carry out more research when buying a phone

Re: Dirty boy!
So we have a guy with republican politics who initiated a Scotish referees strike, goes around fathering children then threatening to kill girls who inform on him, is on the run from the Revenue, has a penchant for younger women and has single-handedly taken us to the bottom of the league in Christmas week? Gee, even with out track record for bad choices, we surely have got us a kipper this time.

Ah well, who can afford a Chilcott inquiry? We are well and truly skint ain't we?
Re: Dirty boy!
Easy option I think. If they'd gone for gross misconduct that could have opened up a can of worms legally of he refused to accept it. He could quite easily make counter claims about lies he'd been told when signing his contract. Easier to keep using him as a free PR man while waiting to pass the buck to the new owners. If criminal charges ensue it might be different.

Re: Dirty boy!
did not the longer article suggest that there was a recorded phone call conversation of Lennon repeating the knife threat?? or did I misread that?
if I read it rightly - then I don't see why criminal charges wouldn't eventually follow...
edit..
aye, here it is...

Sunday Mirror wrote:They had an argument and Kim stopped her car on the side of the motorway, threatening to tell Irene the truth and expose his latest affair.
It was then, she claims, Lennon told her someone “could” hold a knife to her throat if she spoke out. Lennon has continually denied making the threat.
But upset at the sudden change in his character, Kim later pressed him on what he meant by the comment.
In a recording of a phone call with Kim, heard by the Sunday Mirror, Lennon replied: “No, I said that – that – that’s what will happen.
"I didn’t say I would do it and I – I didn’t threaten you with it at all. I said that it could possibly happen... and that’s what I don’t want.”
Re: Dirty boy!
If that's it then it's far too vague for him to be charged but still reflects badly of course.

Re: Dirty boy!
Two bits of scurrilous rumours I heard today. I'll put the other one on the debt thread
One lass that Lennon was supposed to be seeing is allegedly the sister of a close friend/'colleague' of the late Billy Webb. Not the best circles to be moving in, if true

Kin'ell can none of these football fellas string a sentence together? I'm assuming then that's it's been forgotten that they went and saw him... or should that have been seen him?? Or did they go and see him and it's now forgotten, or maybe... nah, never mind.Jugs wrote:Lennon has apologised and is back to his old self on the training ground: http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/141 ... ?ref=ebmpn" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
