Who mentioned anything about it being stressful, or are you just being a prick?bobo the clown wrote:Yet .... despite it I'm just bruised. To be fair it's a far cry from driving 230 miles. Now that IS stressful, I'm sure.thebish wrote:Harry Genshaw wrote:Says the man now wearing an orthopedic shoebobo the clown wrote:Fck, you're a delicate lot you "athletes".Burnden Paddock wrote:I decided that it would be a good idea to go for a run this afternoon after a 230 mile drive darn sarf. 6k and one knackered calf later, I realised that it wasn't! Re: The athletics/running thread
You said that you drove 230 miles and should have known better than then to go on a run.
Apologies for being a prick. Really. I'd hate to make a fool of myself, so I withdraw.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

You're a grumpy looking fecker in that pic BP! Those shots just go to prove that some folk really can wear Ron Hills without looking like Max Wall. I'm starting to understand the attraction of it all now.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Why's everyone so feck* tetchy at the moment?
Anyway over the last few days I have:
Run 8.5 miles, swam 2k and circumnavigated Winter Hill via Rivington, Belmont and Horwich.
Just finished a 10mile run in just under 1hr 22mins and am very pleased my knee has not bothered me once.
All I have to do now is the Ironman in July.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Right, you tetchy 4uckers - tomorrow's PR is currently on and it's a 10:00 start. Apparently the track is shitty down the bottom end (as I imagine it will be on the turns at the bottom of Cruella and the one that leads up the back of the 5-a-side pitches). Time to dig the Walsh's out, I guess! Dave Hitchen's asking for hi-viz volunteers, by the way, injured ones!

My motto for life, young Genshaw, is - Always as well as, never instead of! If I don't see you on the start line at 10:00 tomorrow then I expect to see you there at 09:00 on Saturday.Harry Genshaw wrote:Tomorrow? Not Saturday then? I suggested to him the other day that he could get piggy-backed round the puddles of PR by a strapping man in hi-viz waterproofs. he told me to feck off. Bit rude.Bruce Rioja wrote:Hermes. He's backGary the Enfield wrote:Okay so first session of the year done.

Good start.Well in, Chief. I haven't ran in over a week, which I need to address as I'm fully aware that the longer you leave it - the harder it gets. There's no way that I'm going out in this though - I'm playing the Sugar Ray card.

Re: The athletics/running thread
First week back at Cross fit last night. Lunges, skipping, burpees, rowing, cycling and pushing a damn tractor tyre around. Felt every one of my 47 years this morning
