Believe it or not, the F&F questionairre also has to be given to hospital patients in Her Majesty's prisons. Yep, "Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family"? Er, not exactly, it's in Parkhurst. Feckin stupidity of the highest order.thebish wrote:what a steaming pile of garbage is this hospital friends and family "test" brought in to replace clinical targets by Mr Cameron..
I was in hospital today (as i often am) - and had cause to be sat waiting next to the poster...
ok... the left hand blue box...
those appear to be questions and answers - so they should not all be part of the same "rank" of bullet list - surely?
also - why the feck does the fourth bullet point have a question mark on the end?? WHY?????
in the tick-box section... what is the difference between "neither likely nor unlikely" and "don't know"?![]()
as for the concept itself..
it is specifically for ward admissions and A&E visits...
IF my family member or friend is in torquay and suffer a medical emergency - so as to necessitate a visit to Accident and Emergency - then Torbay is the nearest A&E - by about an hour's drive.
so - in the event of such an emergency - would I recommend that they go to Torbay A&E?? yes - of course I fecking would!!! duh!!! I'd have tick the box labelled "extremely likely"...
and in conducting such an exercise the govt has spent millions learning pretty much NOTHING other that the fairly obvious fact that in a medical emergency, Torbay A&E is not SO dangerously bad that I'd recommend an hour's drive to Exeter to avoid it!
arrrgghhhhhh!!!
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.

I get text messages asking 1-10 how I rate various hospital departments and would I recommend them to family/relatives

Try rating the Bolton Reception ward, for new cases requiring settling and diagnosing before (probably) moving them onto an appropriate ward.Hoboh wrote:I get text messages asking 1-10 how I rate various hospital departments and would I recommend them to family/relatives
Very stressful, lots of scared patients and scared relatives. They do a great job ... at that acute stage.
However, when looking to move my mother on & they proposed a chest ward ... as she had a pneumonia yet she also had a broken pelvis and acute dementia. I asked about the "Complex Care" ward ... for multiple ailments. I was told it didn't exist. I replied that I'd been told it would be the appropriate ward by the A&E consultant. Again, they denied it existed and I got a head-cocked, sympathetic "Aaaw, poor love, doesn't understand" look.
I wandered off and found the ward which was cunningly called "the Complex Care Ward" (plus a number). I took photos of the ward entrance, the signs etc. & returned.
I again insisted this was the right ward, they again insisted it didn't exist. I showed them the photos at which I got " Oh ... THAT Complex Care Ward !!".
Funny hospital Bolton General ... which I insist on calling Town keys.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

well - given it's all a bit of a doddle (albeit fairly poorly paid) - then I can see why... (technically, though, I am neither Vicar nor priest... so - what would I know!)

Given that there are two of you in your house by 'eck you must glow with self satisfaction.
(I'd say "smug" but that's got me in trouble before !)

Of course that may just be because me folks always took the News of the Screws when I were a kid.

I really can't see much chance of my kids getting anywhere near the house-ownership ladder any time soon.....

Always wondered mine and my neighbours' houses and identical houses over the other side of the main road differ in value. Apparently it's to do with school catchment areas.
