I think the jury is out as to whether he can make it as a top player in the Championship, but I'd much rather find out either way with him in a white shirt.
Not this jury. Neck on line, I reckon injuries not withstanding he'll spend most of his career in the Prem.

100% agree with your first paragraph. Hope circumstances don't dictate he ends up having to be flogged to keep us limping on another 3 days.
Wow with us or someone else ? *halo*

fwiw he's not big, strong or quick and given that seems the baseline for most PL forward players, I'd say your neck is in danger. His awareness and movement is good, but suspect he would have to become a prodigious goalscorer to get that kind of career. Fair do's if he does - just hope we get the max financial benefit from it.
Some would say this guy isn't either.

The club have confirmed that Threlkeld's having another three months at Plymouth and Whyte's gone back to Blackpool until the end of the season.

Messi might be the same height, but he's significantly stronger, quicker and is a once in a lifetime talent who is arguably the greatest to ever play the game. Fortunately, there is a middle ground in between Messi and Marvin Sordell, so I wouldn't rule out Zach going on to carve out a top-flight career.

Personally I think his knack for scoring goals covers up a lot of deficiencies in his game, but there are a lot of people you could say that about that have done alright for themselves.

I'm sure that everyone would prefer to keep Clough. But he's certainly not work risking the future of the club to keep. And that might be the choice over the next few weeks.

a bold prediction... it might pay off - but I wonder if he is just a bit lightweight and would just get too easily out-muscled in the prem...

he wouldn't be the only bloke on the pitch with pace in the prem, either...

It would be criminal to see Zach go for such a low price.

Vultures the fecking lot of em.
Coyle tried it on with Palace over Wilfried Zaha. I hope we give the same answer we got back then.
And I don't want to hear that irritatingly tired and cliched word 'derisory'. Let's buck the trend and use the words 'cheeky c*nts' in the official club statement.

I read this page from the bottom. Only at the last input seeing the terms "Birmingham" ... and "£750k".

Cheeky, and indeed, c^nts".
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Official club statement:

Clough bid.
Having received an offer of £750,000 from Birmingham City,
Eddie Davies has decided not to sell the young forward.
Eventually, we may have to sell, he conceded.
Keen to dispel rumours of the club going bust, he added,
You need to retain your best players.
Can't let them go on the cheap.
Unless we get a better offer.
Now we're focused on the next match.
Tough game.
Saturday.

D'yaknow, I'm in such a panic fanny tizzy that having read that ^ three times now, I still can't determine whether it actually was put out by the club or whether you've completely invented it. Whichever, hahaha.

The "last letter" scam notwithstanding ... basically that means "we'll be reet".
