Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr
I'm surprised at this. I thought it might be a new tactic from our oppos, you know express an interest in anyone who might be playing against them in a few days time so that Lennon can't pick them and then forget about them after the match. (Hint: if Sheff Wed show an interest in Clough suddenly - we know what you're up to, bugger off).throwawayboltonian wrote:Also the beeb have the Mavies transfer to Sheff Wed as being officially off. Dunno whether they mean permanently, or if they're just catching up regarding the haggling over wages.

I'm struggling to understand how Kamara can be judged to be poor at the moment. Maybe this Sierra Leone international with Chumpions League experience and a raft of league and cup honours to his name is struggling to understand why he's so far struggled to get a single moments playing time in a struggling side that's struggling along with 17 points from 25 games.throwawayboltonian wrote:Our senior players and high earners - Pratley, Spearing, Medo et al - are so poor at the moment
Mind you, if whiter than white FIFA goes ahead with its proposed ban of Sierra Leone from world football, he won't even get a kick about with them.

The word on the street is he's a bad egg/troublemaker. whether true or not I don't know, but it's the only reasonable explanation I can think of for being sent to Coventry.Enoch wrote:I'm struggling to understand how Kamara can be judged to be poor at the moment. Medo was awful in the games before Lennon arrived.

That 'word' was posted on here a week or so ago AT and if flew in the face of what I'd previously been told. On the back of that I enquired and someone that has worked with him told me he is a very humble and gentle person that goes about his business in a professional manner, endorsing those previous stories.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:The word on the street is he's a bad egg/troublemaker. whether true or not I don't know, but it's the only reasonable explanation I can think of for being sent to Coventry.Enoch wrote:I'm struggling to understand how Kamara can be judged to be poor at the moment. The suggestion I hear is that Lennon doesn't think he's mobile enough, doesn't cover enough ground. For all I know maybe he's pissed Lennon off on a personal level. Either way, I doubt he'd stink the place up any more than some others have of late.

If we sell Vela, Mavies and Pratley, there'll come a point where Lennon will have to choose between Medo and a Development kid. If it's the latter, there's something seriously wrong with either Medo's attitude, Lennon's judgement or both. We may never know.

He still won't pick Spearing though

Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr
AFAIK Woolery is a striker/winger/forward. Medo's a central, primarily defensive midfielder. He didn't play well toward the end of Freedman's reign but who did? There was a time when things were going OK and he was in the team.throwawayboltonian wrote:He's been bigging up Woolery in the BEN, so I'd expect to see him in a Bolton shirt before Medo. I also find it interesting that if Medo was so set on playing, how come he's not requested a transfer or loan somewhere? He doesn't seem to be getting gametime heere any time soon, excluding potential transfers. As you say whether it's Medo's ability or Lennon's judgement that is at fault is up for debate, I just don't remember Medo playing very well in his last few outings.
I'm not a Medo fanboy and I'd love someone to take over the contract we signed with him. Maybe he doesn't want to walk away from that contract, which is his right.

I genuinely wonder whether each first-team start means we owe Spearing, LFC or both an appearance fee which we can't or won't afford.boltonboris wrote:He still won't pick Spearing though
Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr
Not sure about that; Lennon hasn't been picking Spearing much ever since Norwich away in October 2014 when he had a poor game. He starts now and then, gets subbed, and stays on the bench for a few games. Then starts a game, gets subbed et cetera.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I genuinely wonder whether each first-team start means we owe Spearing, LFC or both an appearance fee which we can't or won't afford.boltonboris wrote:He still won't pick Spearing though

No, I'm not sure either; just a theory. It's like he keeps going back to him expecting to find something different (something better?). And it's not even as if he picks him in a certain limited role, either.Jugs wrote:Not sure about that; Lennon hasn't been picking Spearing much ever since Norwich away in October 2014 when he had a poor game. I'd guess Spearing was the last "Premier-level" signing we made, financially; from Liverpool, after a successful loan, made captain, etc. Wouldn't surprise me if there were add-ons etc - but presumably not the kind where LFC (or the player) get a lump sum after a certain number of appearances – because in that case bringing him on for cameos would be awful management.

I actually like Spearing, but he had his best form under Dougie.

Hello, Ipswich fan in peace here.
Really sorry to see whats going on with your club at the moment, never a good situation to be in. Can sympathies slightly for when we went in to admin and had to sell off our best assets at reduced costs.
What's the deal with Darren Pratley? I know we was linked in the summer with him, and it looks like those rumours are resurfacing again now. Anybody heard anything your end? How much do you reckon you would be looking for him?
I'd love for us to sign Clough, but we'd never spend 3mil+ on a player these days!
Anyways, all the best for the rest of the season.
Cheers,
ITFC

Pratley at the top of his game can still boss a Championship midfield just about. He's not been at the top of his game for a while (mid last season)...ITFC wrote:Hello, Ipswich fan in peace here.

On this season's form, we'd probably offer to piggy-back him over.

He's ace. We would like four million pounds in used notes, by midnight, please.

As I said, know idea and it's all speculation. Even if he isn't mobile enough etc, it doesn't explain Trotter getting playing time ahead. I don't think he's the saviour or owt, but he hasn't been given a sniff of a chance by Lennon. One of them is a cock, possibly both...Enoch wrote: That 'word' was posted on here a week or so ago AT and if flew in the face of what I'd previously been told. Ha! Whats the general thought in and around where you? Are you expecting a number of players to be sold this January with youngsters filling the blanks till the end of season?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Hi,Worthy4England wrote:ITFC wrote:Hello, Ipswich fan in peace here.
