Actually it was the threat of being shot by some fascist.Bijou Bob wrote:Aaaaaha! One to make DSB's hair curl: " If Moonshift were to pull the plug, it would be the final whistle."BWFC_Insane wrote:Adjourned on basis of land sale, player sale and potential sale of the whole club.
HMRC weren't satisfied with plan or likelihood of sale and therefore still requested petition remain.
Thankfully court granted adjournment.
EDIT: Those who witnessed proceedings suggest a significant number of player sales are crucial.

Bolton Wanderers has stated that due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club’s current funding position, it has been unable to confirm to its staff today that they will receive their wages for the month of January on the due dates.

I wonder if that was a part of the plan they unveiled in court!Martin_Cruise wrote:Bolton Wanderers has stated that due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club’s current funding position, it has been unable to confirm to its staff today that they will receive their wages for the month of January on the due dates.

Can they claim insolvency and still pay wages? Either way, I hope the HMRC haven't got a spy in our camp.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I wonder if that was a part of the plan they unveiled in court!Martin_Cruise wrote:Bolton Wanderers has stated that due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club’s current funding position, it has been unable to confirm to its staff today that they will receive their wages for the month of January on the due dates.

Re: The breaking News thread...
It won't help at the 22nd Feb hearing that HMRC are owed another tranche of PAYE, or even that they've had a delayed PAYE payment. I don't think they need a spy, Tango. I think their own computers will notice the missing cash.TANGODANCER wrote:Can they claim insolvency and still pay wages? I reckon right now somebody somewhere in HMRC Central is running down a corridor waving a bit of computer printout and screaming to her/his boss "Them feckers in Bolton have done it again"

Re: The breaking News thread...
I can't imagine what the staff is going through. Bills to pay, family members to feed, not knowing whether they will get paid or even have a job after this month.
My emotions are shot much less them. With every ray of hope comes some bad news. I really don't know what's the truth anymore.
