I occasionally pass the time by looking at the names of players in England's various youth teams; they tell us a lot about naming styles.TANGODANCER wrote:"Jack Earing and Enock Likoy-Elumba." Far cry from Tommy Banks and Johnny Ball......
U20s have a Harry Winks and a Ted Smith, who could have come straight from any First Division team in the 1930s, while the U19s have a Tosin Adarabioyo and a Tammy Abraham, who probably couldn't. The U17s have the following wonderful smorgasbord of names:

Isn't there a Chalobah that Chelsea have loaned out to all and sundry over the last few years? Any relation? I'd look myself but I can't really be arsed tbh.
Re: dev. squad
see theres a Spooner on the team sheet
Is it Nicky Spooners son ?
was gutted when Spooner Snr broke his leg,, thought he had something about him
didnt take him long to put sunbed brownie where he belonged on the subs bench
his leg went with a right crack ---- total silence on the burnden terrace while he got treatment on the pitch
very sad day

But, what the u-17s lack is the plethora of double barrelled surnames that kids have in her class - 25% of them! As Mark E Smith might have put it, It's The New Thing.
Anyway, I've gone off topic. As you were.

What I've never understood, why does any pron flick run to more than about 5 minutes?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: dev. squad
The current trend for double barracking can only work for one generation .... unless we have quad-barrelled names when they end up married.
