Inverted wingers? Like Sterling? A lad who cost £50million yet can't actually cross a ball to save his life? Even Feeney whips a better ball in than Sterling. Perhaps he's becoming a priceless commodity, a relic from ancient times. Let's keep hold of him.

Which is precisely why we have our own(rocket jet)heeled winger! To get that orb into zone 14!Lost Leopard Spot wrote:According to an article I read recently (can't remember where), he's redundant, outmoded, a bit of an antique. Apparently all the Premiership (I know, I know) sides have abandoned wingers who cross from the sidelines for inverted wingers who run into the centre and pass the ball into a lurking no 10 who is magically controlling zone 14 (which I'd never heard of but is apparently football's answer to ufology's area 51).malcd1 wrote:My thoughts exactly. Wingers normally have as many off days as good days. He is no different.Harry Genshaw wrote:Feeney is your typical winger. Blows hot and cold but he's adequate for the championship and is one of our mist creative players. He scores a few too so would be a huge loss if he goes
I think Feeney is one of our better players and we should keep him if we can. He is fairly limited but a trier and on his day, like Saturday, is capable of producing decent crosses. Obviously we are not going to get promoted in the near future so we are not going to get much better.

Swansea are such a thrifty football club, they can feck off for me. They got over £20mill for that useless lump Bony last January and £12mil for that other useless lump Shelvey and are still unprepared to spend a pretty penny in reinvesting in the squad. They got Ayew on a free in the summer as a replacement for Bony, despite all that cash. No wonder they're going down the feckers. And now they want to commit a bit of daylight robbery at BWFC? Feck 'em.

remember the days when everyone wanted to follow the bolton model

Swansea want to sell at Harrods and do their shopping at Poundlands, it's no wonder they of all teams have set their sights on Bolton, a club who are debt-ridden and looking to sell a couple of highly-rated youngsters for next to nothing.

Bony scored 26 in 54 Premier League games for them. Would that we had such useless lumps.Jugs wrote:Swansea are such a thrifty football club, they can feck off for me. He had an awesome record at Swansea, which makes it all the more puzzling why they didn't replace him adequately.

Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr
PNE are now favourites to sign Feeney, according to Iles: "Feeney is out of contract in the summer, is not one of the squad’s bigger earners and would command only a small fee up front – but such is the drive to curb the wage bill from outgoing owner Eddie Davies, Neil Lennon may have to stand by and watch the 29-year-old move on to a Championship rival."
Lennon:
Lennon:
Lennon is also hoping, rather than expecting, to retain the services of Shola Ameobi. He does have his critics but I’m not one of them because he gives me everything every week. He keeps going. His fitness levels are unbelievable and the chasing back he did at times {against McDons} was fantastic, as were some of the crosses he put into the box.
He will contribute with a goal here and there as well, so in a really tough season he can be pleased with his overall contribution. He is an important part of my team.
I’ve been given no indication I can sign players, and besides we’re still in embargo. Shola is a possible one. I’ll speak to the powers that be because his contract is out now - but we’ve tried that with a couple of players and been rebuffed. It would be nice just to freshen things up a little bit, definitely.

Ameobi says he'll play for free but he's not allowed. Messi considering donating all his spare playing time to Bolton also for free, but says we'll have to move our stadium to Barcelona.

Pratley to Ipswich?
Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr
Probably a dumb question but why is he not allowed?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Ameobi says he'll play for free but he's not allowed. Messi considering donating all his spare playing time to Bolton also for free, but says we'll have to move our stadium to Barcelona.

We're under an embargo regarding signing players. As he belongs to no club we can't loan him (our only recourse I think)
Surely, as with the transfer window, this is restrictive trade practice?
