The radio discussion is changing. Heard he's trying to smash square pegs into round holes.
I suppose you can be as stubborn as you like when you're not under pressure.

Round pegs in triangular holes, ie, never going to fit ever unless the pegs are sausage meat or...ohh wait a minute. Do we even look like a foottball team? All too predictable and don't blame injuries except to effort and confidence. Is this really Bolton Wanderers?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:28 pmWith inverted wingbacks, we've found a way to make two more players turn backwards and inside

We look like a team that is too soft and has long been found out.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:41 pmRound pegs in triangular holes, ie, never going to fit ever unless the pegs are sausage meat or...ohh wait a minute. Christ, the finishing is poor. Collins having a stinker, as are a few. There were five minutes (I saw) where one-touch passing and Schön taking it past a man totally opened them up (shock). Then everyone, everything, faded, and the concrete has set in. Not sure what has happened to Bax, but it’s a huge weak link when our “possession” ends up, so often, going back to the keeper, who can’t hit anywhere near a white shirt.
Only game-changer I can think of, with that individual flair, is Tutu. What has happened to this lot. And the winners we had. It’s necrotic.

I can only imagine it's a case of the players feeling disillusioned and a lack of confidence all round.BorsdaneWhite wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:46 pmChrist, the finishing is poor. Three players up top constantly with extra help out wide and punted balls not being challenged for or even reaching their man.

I'd also argue that Tutu is this seasons Andranik or Riga. On the side lines, looking threatening, but would probably contribute just as much if they were given the top spot.BorsdaneWhite wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:46 pmOnly game-changer I can think of, with that individual flair, is Tutu. Christ on a bike. He’s not a natural finisher is he…

Can't criticise Evatt for Adeboyejo's shit shooting. Terrible.
Nice to see McAtee giving grief for the others putting in a lack of effort in the press. He's just as guilty but at least he's trying to jeer them up.

The amount of space Mansfield have is a disgrace.Mar wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:50 pmI can only imagine it's a case of the players feeling disillusioned and a lack of confidence all round.BorsdaneWhite wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:46 pmChrist, the finishing is poor. If you want to see low confidence then Victor has just possibly shown that with the worst attempt on goal you'll ever see.
I don't like what Collins is doing at the minute. He's losing his tempter and throwing his teddies out if the cot.

What exactly are we trying to achieve with McAtee dropping deep?
Re: A Novel affair. Home to Mansfield Town Tues 3rd Dec. 1945
Another one for Adeboyejo's highlights reel.

Matete is literally running for 4 men and is getting called out for letting Boateng through.
There were 4 men around that ball John.

Not saying we can't criticise for other decisions, but a striker finishing that poorly is certainly not one of them. Vic's better than that.
Get him off the pitch.
Re: A Novel affair. Home to Mansfield Town Tues 3rd Dec. 1945
McAtee's had some good moments defensively early on. Barely seen him this half though. Too busy complaining at others rather than putting a shift in to defend.
I suspect the players don't understand their roles at this rate.

Get Victor off?
Get fecking Collins off.
Victor has nobody to pass to when he holds it up.
