FFS if every corner reaches the back post, put someone on there.

That's something like four wasted corner kicks by doing the same play.
Madness and all that.
Indeed. Even during play i'm seeing the same patterns play out. Must be so easy for Mansfield to know whats coming. Ball down the flank, cut back and cross. Rinse and repeat. Pack the box, problem solved.

Every second ball our lot are 5 yards behind play. There's no "possession football" rule about not competing for 2nd balls. We're just chugging about out of possession too often.

We’re so much better than Mansfield.

I get that its hard to break down a low block.

But when we have the option to face something other than a low block, we're so slow at getting the ball to the strikers that it eventually does become a low block.

Take Mansfield's approach for instance. Fast, quick attacks and getting a shot off quickly.

Tactically crippling.

When was the last time Jones had a good game?

As individuals, but we're not doing really basic stuff.

Jones there stepped up when they had a spare man and just got taken out of the game, forcing Williams to sprint back and take a yellow card.

Stupid shit like that, repeated 30-40 times, costs us games.

Their crossing compared to ours. It’s laughable. Wing-backs who can’t cross. What is the point.

Crossing off weak feet is costing us so many chances.

Well, if they’re going to be selfish and keep 11 on the pitch…

They can cross, they’re just playing on the wrong sides.

First time we move it quickly in the 2nd half and we look like scoring.

Trouble is we're as likely to lose this 1-3 as get back to 2-2. Ridiculous really when you can see how much better than them we are.

That’s one of the issues with inverted wingbacks!

Very much feels like we need to relax in the final third. So many passes aren't hitting their man.

Swap the wing backs

Jones plays a simple ball across the back and puts it 5 yards behind Johnston. Their 8 sprints up, because he's triggered by the loose pass.

Basic, basic stuff. It means we're always playing into a set defence.

CMG runs the wrong side of the defender to take his man away and free up space for Williams to attack. Williams cuts inside into a defender, instead of space.

This is the world's most basic pattern stuff, that teams at this level can and do regularly get right.
