Well my friend, if you open your garden shed.........
No, I used to deal with a company on Mollison Ave (continuation of the road that's 1st left off the A10 when you come off the M25) and also a former colleague is now the manager of a licenced wholesalers on Crown Road (down the back of Morrison's).

And, after having checked my shed, I can sleep more soundly tonight.
btw I used to work behind the bar when Ken and Lois where the incumbents, is that your era?

Didn't they retire to the seeside? I remember their last night, it was really quite sad (upsetting). Basically, me and my mates used to go in The Edge with my older brother and his mates and we'd spend all night in the Pool Room (and I'd feed endless coins into the Jukebox just to repeatedly hear War Baby by Tom Robinson, an unrecognised classic I tellz ya). When it was my 17th birthday we had to pretend that it was my 19th.

They retired to run a private gentlemens club. If you were there on their retirement night I probably served you a drink.Bruce Rioja wrote:It bloody is!enfieldwhite wrote:Fair enough.

The Pool room was always a good crack and I spent many a happy night in there. Hotel California (scratched) was always my favourite.
Happy days!

You are not doing a very good job of convincing us it wasn't a brothel.

Gin is the demon drink of them all. Colourless and deadly; looks like water, tastes like Fennings Fever Cure and when it hits you it does so with the speed of a cobra. A session at a Franny Lee party put me off it for life. Never touched that again either, to this day. Left my car outside his house for three days. Drive? I couldn't walk.

I think you'll find, Tango, that it is simply a fermented distillation of the juniper berry. Treat it like a God!TANGODANCER wrote:Gin is the demon drink of them all. Colourless and deadly; looks like water, tastes like Fennings Fever Cure and when it hits you it does so with the speed of a cobra.

Then please do me a favour and have my share of juniper berries. Tis the brew of Satan.Bruce Rioja wrote:I think you'll find, Tango, that it is simply a fermented distillation of the juniper berry. To be fair, I only ever drink Bombay Sapphire when it comes to Gin.
