Nolan's return to the Reebok

So what's the score going to be then??? It will probably be a close nailbiter again and as we can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives I'm going for another 3-2 or even a 4-3 game which could go either way. If Carroll isn't fit then we should win but if he plays then who knows, it could be anybody's
.
But getting off the fence I'll stick with my pre-season prediction of a win and go for 3-2 to us.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

I thought it was at full-time.. The game where we were 2-0 up and drew 2-2(?). Megson wanted us to keep a high-line. Nolan told him to feck off after about 60 minutes and told the players to sit deep. They ignored the gaffer and conceded twice. Barmy ensuedEast Lower wrote:His departure was hastened by a dressing fight at half-time away at Blackburn.......good riddance. He had become a hindrance over his last 12 months at the club and to hear news of his departure was a welcome one as far as I am concerned. I hope he comes back and has a stinker.

I work with a Geordie piss heed and he reckons Nolan has proven himself to the toon faithful. This was of course said when he was steaming after the Sunderland game.
Nolan was quality for us except the 2 years where his game went down the pan. He is a Ledgend in my eyes, work hard for the club coming through the ranks, helped us in the promotion year and that goal at Old Trafford will forever stay in the memory!
I will be welcoming him back, although i wouldn't have him in our current team!

Spot on for me WW. Think Nolan lost interest in the last 18 months with us and was only making up numbers as his heart clearly wasn't in it. He looked slow, overweight and never really had a good 90 minutes for us after being made Captain as far as I'm concerned.
However, just for his passion after the match at Marseille, the way it clearly gutted him as much as it had everyone stood watching that night, he'll be getting polite applause from me before I urge Muamba to level him in the first ten minutes.

An excellent point well made. I'll give him a little clap before the game but I truly hope someone batters him into Row Z early on. Preferably Davo.Bijou Bob wrote:Spot on for me WW. Funny story actually.
The year Nolan signed for Newcastle my friends dad met him in newcastle airport and asked him why he left Bolton for Newcastle and he replied, and I quote " I thought Bolton would be relegated and I didn't wanna be playing championship football".
Funny that this happened in June when Newcastle were already relegated.
I thought he was sold in January, came back with Newcastle that season (we beat them) but he didn't play through injury.

Mostly right, but he was suspended after picking up a needless 5th booking the previous game.david lee's bald patch wrote:#Eire_Trotter wrote:Agree with this. I'm intrigued BWFCI.BWFC_Insane wrote:Nolan was not sold because of any fight at Blackburn.
FACT.
I've always thought that Nolan was sold simply because the price offered was high given his form at the time. Is there something else?

Wasn't the booking a little more seriuos, like for a stomping and thus a straight red card?boltonboris wrote:Mostly right, but he was suspended after picking up a needless 5th booking the previous game.david lee's bald patch wrote:#Eire_Trotter wrote:Agree with this. Can't remember, but it was definitely something avoidable. It was suggested (on here) that he did it purposely to avoid playing against usseanworth wrote:Wasn't the booking a little more seriuos, like for a stomping and thus a straight red card?boltonboris wrote:Mostly right, but he was suspended after picking up a needless 5th booking the previous game.david lee's bald patch wrote:#Eire_Trotter wrote:Agree with this.
