I think thats a bit harsh on Knight but then so is being critical of Wheater against Villa

Couple of bad moments for DW on Saturday but so far he's well in credit

Can't get my head around how anybody can be voting Knight

:conf: to be honest i'm a fan of both..although both are a tad clumsy they are usually pretty reliable and whilst people complain knight jus hoofs the ball i'd rather him play safe then try (and probably fail) in playing his way out from the back..save all that for chelsea and there 35mil david luiz's

Agree with this

Wheater has made a couple of mistakes, but overall performances have been better than Knight of recent. Two decent premiership centre halves who are probably about our limit, without investing and polishing a diamond (and who is to say Wheater won't be one).

He's definitely not done owt disastrous to warrant losing his spot has Wheater, so he keeps it for me.

I don't get as nervous when he has the ball at his feet. Zat scares me when he tries to dribble or pass it on the ground. Which is why I'm sure he just boots it.

Plus, I want to see Wheater score from a FK.
LOl did you see his effort in the last FA Cup game?
Yes I did. Which is why I'd like to see him play more and actually take a proper one.

But if Cahill is better, then how are they are limit? Surely the limit is playing next to them?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Would like to see both Wheater and Knight together for a game or so. No disrespect to Cahill but this might be the line up for next season.

hmmm... but if cahill is going - makes more sense to get as much out of him as we can while we have him - and, who knows - he might even stay.

if he goes in the summer - then wheater and knight would have a whole pre-season to get to know each other.

I only wouldn't mind seeing a trial for one or two games only not for all the remaining games. If they are not compatable it gives us time for search out other options if possible.

i personally think wheater is the less of two evils.as has been said; its his place to lose. knight was on the slide (all puns intended) before he got injured.

Wheater is immeasurably better than Knight

I said so earlier but those 2 together would probably make me cry. Even at their best they're too slow to cope with any kind of pacy striker, each works better with a smaller, quicker guy next to him.

And then I have the images in my head of them playing together when they both have a bad day filled with mistakes (which both are highly capable of). I just see them running into each other, fouling constantly, getting mixed up with high balls in and quick balls behind - like some sort of horrific bumbling comedy duo.

Don't worry - Ricketts will be back....

We signed Cahill when his reputation probably placed him lower in the football pecking order than Zat Knight. Thats the polishing a rough diamond thing I was getting at.

Signing a twenty five year old plus centre half - Zat Knights our level.
Sign a sub 25 year old we could well sign someone potentially better.

On games I've seen Zat seems to play much better when not partnered with Cahill. No idea why. Wheater according to Midd fans says when he has a solid partner he is an excellent defender. When partnered with someone inferior his game falls apart. I would like to see if that will be the case, although certainly not this week. Will Zat step up and how will Wheater play?
