I got a thing in the post today about my season ticket. On it was a largish Tudor rose ... Red, with a white inner and another red centre. The flier says "we're back" ... I guess this is part of the rose returning on the badge.

We'll see it soon enough I guess.

I think that's what gets most people about these sort of companies.

I've no problem at all with 'classic' bank loans. Both sides go in with eyes open, both hoping to gain. The creation of credit meant people with good ideas, who could never have got the capital behind them, can pursue those ideas, and in return for that opportunity they pay a premium on what they borrow. When it works well it's brilliant for everyone, but even if it goes wrong, both sides knew there was a chance beforehand, and could and ought to have planned to defend against it, or at least mitigate their losses. (^ 18 year-old me would have loved that shit :D)

With these pay-day loan companies there isn't the same symbiosis. In some cases, sure, people have bad months, or an unexpected cost and they need cash quickly, to tide them over. In those cases, I don't necessarily see a real problem. However, it does 'feel' as though these companies target the vulnerable in a bid to get them trapped in a cycle of debt they'll never get out of. Rinsing them of every spare penny for a few years before going for the kill and finishing them off. How often that happens I don't know, but when they first appeared there were all sorts of horror stories of astronomical interest rates being hidden in small print, and deliberately confusing and misleading advertising conning people into getting trapped. They seem to be better now, with the ludicrous interest rates in big font, and examples of the cost of the short term loans. Even so, they still seem exploitative to me.

Again, I caveat this with I'm not sure just how TRUE this is, but it was on the news so it can't be a million miles out. The percentage of defaulters was quoted at 40%. Hence the ridiculous interest rates. They are covering their arses. Plus, with same caveat, they don't actually charge 1000s % APR because it's not legal - that's usury. That's why the loans are capped at 30 days.
It's also self evident to me that if you cannot afford to borrow the last place you should go to borrow are these cnuts.
I don't defend them but you have to be a bit culpable if you are borrowing from them, surely...

It's not true here Spotty. We don't have any usury laws, and plenty of these loans 'roll-over'. The OFT threatened a load of them recently to basically clean up or lose their licences.

Blue stripes! Thought the kit would be largely the same as last season but looks I'll be (at least a little) surprised. Hopefully we stick with red numbers too. Could lose the gold mind.

If it looks like the 88/90 shirt I'd be extremely happy with that

I'd love to know what our celebrity fans think about this. I mean when they were all getting their noses in the trough they couldn't stop tweeting about #whitehot now they seem fairly quiet.

True fans there.

In the event that me once getting a custard pie in the face from Chris Evans (Piccadilly 261 days) makes me the most famous BWFC fan I'm willing to go on record to say I'm disgusted with the pawing, money grubbing, filty lucre chasing of Wanderers and Quick Quid.

I never liked Bet188 and didn't think it possible for us to sink further into the mire but congrats everyone you proved me wronga.

If I was an entrepreneur I'd be selling plain white iron on patches that you could use to cover up the sponsors logo giving you a 'classic' plain white kit.

I want £4.50 for 100 of the company.

Thank you for listening are there any questions?
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.
