Two-game unbeaten run. I had to look up when that last happened. It wasn’t 2019.

Re: Jack fell down and Hill came tumbling after. Sunderland @ Home. 21/09/2019 3pm

Gut-punch of a way to drop two points, but then, a week ago, who'd have expected us to drop two points in injury time?

Sounds like we played well, the fans were behind us and we'll be alright. Just wondering what league...

Re: Jack fell down and Hill came tumbling after. Sunderland @ Home. 21/09/2019 3pm

Verlinden with smart play down the right finds his way into the box, attempts to cross it and it's deflected out for a.... you guessed it a goal kick. Unreal. Like at Rotherham (at 1-2) when his shot was pushed round the post by the keeper's foot. Even the home players were lining up for a corner. ...

Iles reports Hill saying three weeks for Murphy, more like five for O’Grady, Brockbank and any other injuries I’ve forgotten.

Clean sheet and a point. Gotta be chuffed with that.
and by all accounts a good performance.

Season starts here? Let’s hope so.

Re: What is our best starting eleven?

Mate, what I want is, in whatever scenario, to challenge the data when a statistic is presented as being 'end of', errr, end of :D When did that happen? When I said "the truth lies somewhere in the middle"? When? From when I first challenged your 'stats'. That'll be towards the beginning of this ex...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

Fascinating game. Odd game. Been too busy to say much (and may not get time to say all I want now) but will try. Set up was an attacking 4-3-3, much more so than Parky ever did. But that left the full-backs exposed, which played directly into Rotherham's hands (or rather their wingers' feet) as our ...

Re: What is our best starting eleven?

That’ll be Expected Saves, then. I doubt they do them down at our level. Ahh, 'expected'. Transitioning nicely back to my starting point of 'opinion', then?! 😉 Yes, the ones collated by Opta Opinions. No, wait a minute, Opta Stats. :D As usual, I suspect the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I un...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

Interesting. Joy of goal. Some good passages of play. Bridcutt looks a player: always available and an organiser too. Also notable that Hill made a proactive switch, replacing Weir with Lowe, pushing Emmanuel forward and Politic up front with Crawford dropping into midfield. But we need to sort that...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

Plenty of staff on the pitch pre-match. Hill and Flicker setting up a short-sided pitch while Allamby and Darby took the warm-up. Darby, watched by three others in “staff” gear (but could be junior players I guess), also did a (shorter) defensive warm-up. Butler for keepers. Surprise lineup in more ...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Where is the news about Murphy being injured? I think it's based on his absence from training. And Hill's comments (see YouTube video) that not all new signings will feature because they're not all ready. He didn't name names, so as not to give Rotherham a heads-up, but pledged to talk about it aft...

Re: What is our best starting eleven?

Bit busy today and the numbers aren't easy to find at third-tier level, but as "saves made" is [attempts on target] minus [goals], it's not quite the shots-per-goal you request but it's not far off it. Soz, should of course read 'saves' made. My broader point though in relation to simply presenting...

Re: What is our best starting eleven?

Matthews always looks a little more prone to making a mistake. While I agree he certainly has a slip in him, he has also made 26 saves in four games this season. His nearest rival for that stat, Lincoln's Josh Vickers, has made 22 from seven appearances. It's 6.5 per game; nobody else who's appeare...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Hill says we’ve only got two spaces left. “Potentially we’ll have to bring in some free agents but we’re mindful that we’ve only got two more because of the regulations with the EFL and the embargo, so it’s a question of us having a little look at the players that we’ve got – and we will not ignore ...
