Re: Season Tickets 2021/2022

That's good news. I note that our average attendance in 19/20 was 11,480. So, what can we reasonably expect this time out? 12,000 + the away end? I've lost track – are there any restrictions on numbers, as a % of capacity? Asking not just for the home games, but for the away games I'm vastly more l...

Re: Homecoming. Rovers (H) in pre-season, 31/07/2021, 3pm

Evatt. There were loads more positives than negatives. I thought it was a really good game, high quality, felt like a Championship game if anything with the standard of play. I am pleased it ended up that way because if you win a game two or three nil against a Championship opposition you might be a...

Hey up, they got one back,. 2-1-us.
Barring Dixon's gift to FCUM, that's the first we've conceded since the first 20 minutes of preseason.

Doyler on for Izzy; presume Baka goes wide.

And we start with another...2-0.. Afolayan, possibly, altho it may go down as an oggie. If not, it's two in two for Dapo Oggie. https://twitter.com/bwfcrg/status/1421490919853940739 Sub, Brockbank for Johnston. Johnston has had some good reviews for this game. Probably being saved for nex...

CODE: SELECT ALL no Doyle, no Santos but perhaps as close as we can get to the first XI. Johnston and Sheehan start.

Re: Homecoming. Rovers (H) in pre-season, 31/07/2021, 3pm

Sorry to hear that, TW – for you and thousands of others, returning to the ground is a mixed feeling. Let's hope the good times can return. On the pitch, I expect us to be as close to our first XI as possible, but COVID isolations have played havoc with that. We do have another friendly midweek, whi...

Re: Season Predictions

Will bung this in here as I can't immediately see an Around The Division thread, but it looks like Russell Martin - possession-centric manager of MK Dons, our first oppos a week today – is in talks with Swansea. If that goes through, it's possible it weakens them, and maybe even makes some "football...

Re: Season Predictions

12th-15th for me unless we can bring in two quality attacking players. Perhaps a couple of loans from our premiership neighbours. Our squad depth is much better than last season, however I don't think that we have brought anyone in to significantly improve the starting XI who finished last season &...

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.

A quick note a propos of nothing other than that Josh Earl has been shunted from No.3 to No.32 in PNE’s new squad numbers. A left-back or left-sided centre-back who stands at 6’4” - a full seven inches taller than George Johnston, by BWFCi’s estimation - Earl spent last season on loan at Burton. The...

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.

I don't really disagree I just don't think he's at the age yet where he "needs" games, but the work-experience loan is a useful weapon in that you don't get stuck with the Foden/Sancho comparison - is it better to go and play, or train with higher quality players. You can do both! Get him to Chorle...

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.

Thommo's an interesting comparison. Senior has promise but he needs games, so I'd be tempted to look at a National League six-month loan to someone who'd play him. If he's absolutely smashing that, then maybe elevate to D4 in January, which is when he turns 20. He's still very young: because his bir...
