Maybe we’d have got the draw if the ref had made the correct decision, but that still wouldn’t have been a great result.
I don’t think it was a terrible performance overall - Delaney essentially cost us the game, but we need to start picking up wins sharpish.

I notice that Taft started for Scunthorpe as they won and kept a clean sheet earlier this afternoon. Is he seriously worse than Delaney and Greenidge?

I wonder what excuses Evatt will come up with if we lose & the team isn't leaked on Saturday morning. Evatt says the club has a problem with being too nostalgic and living in the past, so therefore we should just put up & and shut up and just accept how shit we now are, how shit he is and accept th...

I think Arthur pint will be on the bench again...we’ll see. I’m not quite convinced he is a starter either but he’s certainly shown more than anyone else recently. Aye, I'd stick him in because of his good performances of late, but I agree he may be more of an 'impact sub' at this point. I would ha...

It’s a shame Lee is out as he looks a very good player and we were noticeably worse when he went off last week. In his absence I’d go for: Gilks Jones Santos Delaney Jackson Tutte Sarcevic Thomason Isgrove Gernooarrr Doyle Who knows which of our various incarnations will actually show up, but when F...

Re: FV Recruitment Model
Thinking about it, perhaps it hasn't been viable to get a 'B' team off the ground at the present time. It would have been nice for the club to perhaps make some kind of comment to that effect, though. The Chief Scout will of course be an important hire in the longer term, so I'm intrigued to see who...

Are we still going ahead with this B team idea? I thought we would have implemented it as soon as we scrapped the U23s, but instead there's just been a void.

Re: Making HMS YouKnowWhat ship-shape: Winter 20/21 transfer thread
I think he was just being kind to the guy. You don't ship someone off on loan for six months because they missed two weeks of training if you think they're any good. I still don't really get why Greenidge would be ranked above Taft - there's no way Greenidge would be getting games for any other side...

Re: Making HMS YouKnowWhat ship-shape: Winter 20/21 transfer thread
It kind of makes sense, but Delaney has been shaky lately and Greenidge doesn't look remotely close to being a league footballer, so I would have thought if Evatt rated Taft at all he'd at least be making the bench.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 10:44 amTaft quotes make sense. Re: Half season predictions
I’m just tempering my inner Ian Evatt. 1. I underestimated what we had signed and how long it takes a team to gel. 2. I probably underestimated the quality of the league (albeit that’s a hard one to analyse). I had seen some league two in the last couple of seasons and thought pretty poorly of it b...

Re: Will we be at the races? Cheltenham (h) Saturday 16 Jan 15:00 KO (GMT)
I think Arthur doesn’t start because he’s pretty inconsistent and his end products a bit hit and miss. He’s been injured as well to be fair - Tuesday was the first time he was fit enough for the bench I think. Having said that he would be in my team for the next game. This formation suits him a lot...

Re: Will we be at the races? Cheltenham (h) Saturday 16 Jan 15:00 KO (GMT)
I like Brockbank, but he’s a centre back. I like Brockbank, but he's too short* to be a centre-back in a back four (you can get away with a shorter one with two big lads alongside him). He's a doughty defensive full-back. And not many people need those any more. *And not good enough in other areas ...

1-1 is a decent result, but again the performance was all over the place.
Sarce I’d say is lucky he’s been made captain, because he’d be getting dropped in favour of Thomason for the next game if he weren’t.
