Re: League One 25/26 - the Runners and Riders, or Schumacher's First Strike

I saw earlier that Luton are signing Josh Keeley from Spurs - he’s the excellent Irish keeper who was on loan at Orient last season. Very good acquisition.

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

Aye - absolutely no-one's reaction after Oxford was that we didn't have talented enough players. Fake News! There was at least 1 (and I suspect a few more), not convinced by plenty of our players/squad - it was a pretty regular conversation in the latter half of the season as we wilted. That's not ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Never understood the GT disliking. Always gives 100% every game. Do wonder who the twitter divs will move onto when he does go. That energy is going to take some replacing. There's a difference between not massively rating someone as a player, and actively disliking them. I feel like the internet t...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

And/or another player that you can make a profit on in future. I did say a few weeks ago things would have to be run more sustainably. Thus, transfers like these are inevitable. So basically we are skint and are unlikely to reinvest the full Collins & Thomason fee's ? That’s not what he said at all...

BTW, with Santos and Gethin gone, Thomo is the final link with the fourth-tier squad (unless you count ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

There’s no guarantee we’ll use the money well, but I’d say it shouldn’t be hugely difficult to get a better player for less than £1.2m.

We paid £300k for Simons, who’s two years younger.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Getting £1.2m for Thomason is great business for us, and should help in getting closer to being genuine title contenders. No way Schuey would sanction this if he wasn’t confident that it will allow us to come out of the summer stronger. Not sure it works like that. Clearly can’t turn the money down...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I’d say that him going to Wrexham a league up is a big loss and we will need a quality replacement. Sheehan is not the answer to anything other than staying in league one and Morley doesn’t and can’t do what Thomason does. But money talks I couldn’t say with any confidence that Thomason would’ve be...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Michael Smith has agreed his release from Sheff Weds, club should do all they can to get him providing he doesn't have offers from the championship. He is exactly what we need, a game changer IMO. He’s 34 soon. Might be worth a one year deal, but not someone I’d be going all out for. Its all about ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Iles reports that they’re ‘readying’ a £1.2m bid. I’d hazard a guess that we’re past that stage if this information is already out there.

The Thomason rumour is certainly gathering momentum on the socials - fee apparently £1M.
I wonder whether this fee would cover those we’ve already signed, or would be available to Schuey to sign more?

Expect some news in the next few days.
Genuinely hope that's not the rumours which have suddenly started circulating in certain locations on Twitter that Thomason has gone...
Wrexham is the team doing the rounds. Presumably we'd be asking for significantly more dosh off that mob.

Ian may have taken on too much, but from what I've heard from staff, he acted like he ran the place too...

Hence why I think both coach(/manager) and sporting director were changed and a clearer structure formalised.
I, for one, am shocked by this revelation.
