I've just learned an ace word. It was in an email to my boss from an outrageously pompous Welsh MD (not Bobo ) who owed us quite a bit of money and I was sent to try and sort it out. He said that I "strode in as the company's plenipotentiary". Ace word (though I'm not sure that it was meant in nice way )).

Been around in diplomatic circles for a few centuries. Someone whose been given absolute power. However, the power is generally given by the reigning sovereign so you'd better be careful. The Queen has been getting a tad irritable of late.

well I, for one, will definitely be singing this old hymn on Sunday - quite possibly the only hymn to contain the words "ejaculated" and "plenipotentiary"!
