I agree it's apples and oranges but for over a million I'd personally want more space in the property and distance from neighbours, I know that hardly applies in London and certain select places and the age of the buyer but for me I'd have to be a river nut and desperately want it to pay the asking price.

To be honest given the prices in Devon, Cornwall is a better bet.

Not for me to be honest, if I chose to move there I'd be in permanent residence, I think too many holiday lets take the mickey out of the locals in a lot of places. There is room for a few but some places are over run with them.thebish wrote:...or spot the potential for long-term very lucrative holiday lets - which, in Dartmouth, can be done all year round.Hoboh wrote: To be fair GTE, taking into consideration, in my view anyway, the restrictive parking and access to the building, the actual size of the apartments, the fact it's hemmed in by two much larger rather close neighbouring properties and it's one saving grace the river frontage I'd pay no more than 350 thou each so 700 thou in total.

tourism is a blessing and a curse for Dartmouth... it prices locals out of houses - but it is the heart of their entire economy... without it, the whole place would dry up.Hoboh wrote:Not for me to be honest, if I chose to move there I'd be in permanent residence, I think too many holiday lets take the mickey out of the locals in a lot of places. Fairly inconsequential story to all but the participants, but in it we have someone making claims of sexism coz they're peeved they've been dropped. I am against sexism, which is why I don't think the women and men's football should be reported separately. They should be reported on an importance/support for the league basis, so I'd expect Leicester's female Premiership centre forward in the Prem to get similar coverage to Vardy.
But back to the story. This is a cyclist. Surely the reality is, if your team members can't see past your ass, then that could be somewhat limiting to them, as well as a health and safety hazard. Maybe they could use "wide load" markings, like vans and trucks, but I'm not sure how well that'd work for world class cycling teams.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'm guessing the phrase "I'm just going to shake me lettuce" hasn't made it down there yet then?

Blimey, I've seen quite a bit recently about 'Croc' attacks, one's to steer clear of methinks.

Pictoral toilet signs have to be the best option, although I imagine there'd be some people complaining it reinforces outdated stereotypes of binary gender identities etc
Had a mate who went into the wrong bogs in Germany as he saw 'Damen' and thought it was for 'da men'.

Woman on a repeat of an episode of The Chase yesterday was asked:
"How many pennies were there in a groat?" She repied.."Four".
When asked why she said:"Well, it sounds like a goat and goats have four legs!"
