Well more or less everyone likes Coyle and Lennon on their appointment so that's no recommendation.irie Cee Bee wrote:Is there someone everybody likes?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Pratley may be a shit. But this simply isn't good enough. Confusion at all levels. If you're not ready to appoint don't go round telling everyone you are. Especially staff.
They need to sort themselves out pronto.

It doesn't paint a great picture, it must be said. But, it's a little odd for the club captain to speak out in this way. I'm not sure if he's attempting to engineer his own departure or he's genuinely frustrated and sees himself as the players' spokesman.BWFC_Insane wrote:http://m.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1447 ... t_manager/

He's been asked for a comment and he's answered. No more games to disrupt so fair enough. Sounds like a right mess.

The manager was set 2 weeks ago according to Anderson. So we should be expecting an announcement today given the season is now over..........

There's no doubt the club could have done things better - the timing of the redundancy announcements on Friday, false promises if they were within our control (ie it wasn't the situation changing out of their control, which sometimes happens). But this isn't a sensible appeal for leadership, it's mealy-mouthed mithering from a whining shite who has hardly set a fine example himself.
Have you offered to take a pay cut, Darren? If a masseur is on £400pw, that's 1/50th of a £20,000pw wage. I know the contract was signed by both parties – I've banged that legal-rights drum before – but things have changed, haven't they, Darren? And not just because of the ownership: because you, and people like you, failed dismally, failed repeatedly, failed expensively, and yet continue to pick up a wage that is largely unsustainable. Seems to me you're happy enough with fiscal f*cktardery when it's paying you, eh?you’re taking food out of their family’s mouths
And four months ago, Darren, you said that you and your overpaid underachieving mates wanted to "shove two fingers up" by avoiding relegation. What happened to that, Darren? In the meeting we had with the owners at the start, they told us we would find out within a week about a new manager. That was maybe six weeks ago now.
Are you seriously implying, Darren, that you can't keep yourself in reasonable shape unless someone holds your hand? I'm sure the club has your phone number and will let you know when you're due back in training. What's up, are you trying to get a cheap flight? It would be nice to know who’s going to take charge, what programmes we’re on over the summer and when we’re actually coming back.
So it has seemed from the on-pitch displays this season. Has the record-breaking ineptness been entirely due to your deeply empathetic fiscal concern, Darren? Or do you accept any part whatsoever in it?No-one knows anything.
Yes. Let's hope you do.Staff have been told their future now, players will get told Tuesday in their meeting, we should find out more then.

More fcuking excuses from Pratley - tell you what Darren why don't you offer to contribute some of your truly extortionate salary towards the wages of a few of the backroom staff, after all its your inept, shite, gutless performances week in week out that have been a major factor in the clubs relegation & necessity to make these staff cuts OR better still do us all a huge favour & fcuk off and relegate some other club.

Yeah, except it should be "mithering". I think it is important to divorce dislike of players from what he is saying. The staff redundancies are an unfortunate but probably necessary evil. And ultimately the players need to take some blame for that.
But he has been asked a question as player representative and answered it. The fact Darren is a bit of a tit is neither here nor there. Like everyone else they've been given timescales that subsequently haven't seemed to be the case and had no explanation.
If you're undertaking this sort of exercise then the communication internally needs to be on point. It is an absolute rule 1 of the handbook. I've been through and carried out similar restructures on a large scale several times. This sounds amateurish in the extreme.
You absolutely don't tell staff they'll have a new line manager within a week then 6 weeks later have nobody in place and don't go back and explain to them what is happening. Especially when during that process their mates and people they've worked with are being shunted out, with seemingly similar levels of communication.
I have no issue with the decisions that need to be taken. But it is clear to me that our owners aren't in agreement. Too many stories from too many places now. And Pratley is obviously annoyed.
If we contrast to Wigan last year they went down but had a manager in place by now working with their chairman on planning for the next season. We have no manager, staff and players who don't know whether they'll be here, two chiefs who cannot agree, no clarity on whether we will submit accounts and be able to get out of the transfer embargo, our main young talent seemingly about to depart....
It isn't good. The plans for pre-season should be sorted now. Or at the very least underway. Slag the players off absolutely, but for me that obfusciates the fact that our club had no leadership under the old regime. And now it seems to have two leaders who are pulling in different directions and creating chaos.
There are plenty of people I know who are deciding whether to renew their STs or now. They need to see concrete and positive steps from the club to tip them over the edge. Frankly I don't blame them. The club can't afford to lose the ticket sales from these people and right now I don't see them doing much to encourage anyone that next season will be better. I've been suspicious up to now, but thankful they saved us. But for me the benefit of the doubt ended after the final whistle on Saturday. Now is the time for concrete and definitive action. They've had enough time in my view.

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
Yeah, I get all that. I don't even dislike Darren that much, especially compared to some other board members. And I clearly said that the club have done plenty wrong. But I tell you what doesn't help give an impression of unity: the captain gobbing off to whoever will stand still long enough.
Do you really think he's doing this altruistically without a shred of self-interest, be that deflecting blame or alerting suitors?
Remember how they used to say of players like Tony Kelly that he'd play for England if he could pass a pub as easily as he passes the ball? Well maybe Dazzler might have a chance if he could pass the ball as frequently as he passes the buck.

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
So up to now Pratley's been utterly fecking shite due to confusion over the ownership of the club and now down to confusion as to who the next manager might be? Just 4uck off, Pratley, you absolute horse's arse.

That statement looks like gross misconduct to me.

The good news is, if Darren's on £20kpw, we only need to sell Holding for £2m to cover the rest of the captain's contract.
