England 279-6 (Woakes 23, Bairstow 107) at stumps. Bairstow lived a bit dangerously from the sound of things (I've been out with the wife most of the afternoon buying jolly things like geraniums and hulking great sacks of compost and stuff) so going to wtch the highlights on T.V at 7-0'clock.

Sri Lanka 162 for 1 at stumps. No walkover this time then.

After dismissing Sri Lanka for 288 we're now 50-3. Root and Vince out to successive balls.

What the hell was Root thinking there?

Ok a tough target and Pakistan favourites, but we've given away two wickets in Root and Hales with very loose shots.

Add Moeen Ali to the list of English players just throwing wickets away recklessly.

Batting line up needs a bit of work in my view. We are exposed against any sort of half decent bowling. Even against poor bowling we struggle at times.

303-3 out of which Vince and Hales have managed 28 between them...I'm thinking Ballance might need to score a few, otherwise the three of 'em will be looking fairly suspect...

20-20 at the oval tonight for a stag do. No idea where i am, but pure and chips cost 8.50, and was the most cost effective feed.

Fray Benton Steak Puddings, microwavable in 90sec. £1.10 in Sainsbury's ... & very good they are too.

Bit of gravy made with Bisto thickening granules and either make or buy your chips (as chippy chips are different).

Glad to help.
