Heh! Think Ronnow's the goalkeeper, and they already have a couple. Which reminds me, did Sunderland get one? Let's hope not...palindromeofbolton wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:26 pmDave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:16 pmHeh, Palace have the papers in to sign a striker and are hopeful of concluding it. Oh well...#Karma #HowYouLikeItNowRonnow suddenly looking doubtful as Brøndby needed to secure a replacement and that deal appears to have fallen through. Palace haven’t given up but currently it’s off. However #CPFC remain confident Sorloth will be completed #DeadlineDay

Loan to the end of the season. Wee man's back!officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:31 pmClough confirmed. Welcome back, Zach. Hope you’ve grown!
And yes, it can be said that he's not what we needed. But by God the fillip might be. And I'll be very intrigued to see how we line up, because I don't think we'll play off Wilbraham as a poundshop Madine. Might attempt to make Walker that man, but more likely not.
One other thing: with front-line surnames of Walker, Le Fondre and Clough, it's like they're making their own TW site header...

Yep, have we now got an issue about maximum number of loans in the squad again? I’ve lost count. Ken’s trousered the Madine cash...

Money banked for Madine. All loan signings. Not exactly investing in the team are we?
I think we will go down.
I really really really hope I’m wrong.

There's more than one way of playing football, don't forget.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:20 pmMagennis ain’t coming. And walker isn’t an out and out striker. More a pace man across the front 3. We are a team full of people who don’t really play up front if Clough signs.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:09 pmPay attention. We're talking about sticking Magennis or Walker up front. Not Wilbraham. You've no idea as to what sort of a tune Parky might get out of them, so why don't you just shut the feck up for a bit?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 10:49 pmIf it's that easy to find someone to score 10 goals in half a season we will be fine we can just stick Wilbraham up front and safety will be assured. Scored 15 goals in 60 odd league one appearances for Charlton.
Sounds great.

I will wait and see but I don’t think any of this is really Parky’s plan or choice.

Loans: Robinson, Burke, Clough, Charsley, Walker. I don't think there's any others now, is there? EDIT: and Flanagan, of course. It's been a long day...
Charsley is likely to be the one missing out. Pointless signing. EDIT: probably Walker as well out of that. Though you could argue it'll be Robinson, having signed an "upgrade"...
On the Madine money, and disappointments regarding a lack of cash signings - bear in mind that loans are frequently quicker to push through, particularly at the last minute.
Chungy out of contract at the end of the season, perhaps a cash bid for Clough...assuming we stay up, of course.

Assuming nowt daft happens, I'm really looking forward to seeing Vela and Clough link up again. Still can't believe that Forest signed one without the other.
No big lump required there.

Hard to know what to make of that. We will have to totally reinvent ourselves. I would be more optimistic if CYL had arrived. The signings, assuming it is Walker, Flanagan, Clough plus Burke, aren't great quality at this level. It will be close but I think the short term hit we take changing our style will make it difficult to stay up.
I guess the money we have from Madine puts the club on sounder financial footing in the short term. But we will be in a similar position next January if we go down with far less potential to being in decent money, either from transfers or investment.

Feel sorry for Chungy (in as much as I can for mini-millionaires) . His club pulled out at the death after he was all geared to go and looking forwrd to being a Wanderer again, albeit temporarliy. Such is transfer days and we've seen enough not to be surprised at anything. Hey, ho, COME ON YOU WHITES.....

Of course. Our midfield of Pratters, Henry and Vela though haven’t become world beaters overnight. They are in essence very limited on the ball. And Wheater and Beevers still can only hoof it.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:40 pmThere's more than one way of playing football, don't forget.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:20 pmMagennis ain’t coming. We didn’t play direct for any reason than the limitations of our players. And that hasn’t changed by signing loads of intricate secondary strikers.
Again I will see what happens. I love Parky. But I don’t for one minute think this is the group of players he would choose. He can’t say that but I’m 100% certain he’s not pulling the strings.

Also. Last game of the season. If we can still stay up. Clough and Walker won’t be able to play.

Does this mean we're going no-striker-barca-stylee from here on in then? Future fun and games eh.
And yes, as per the rest of our commentariat; shame about Chungy - can't see there being much point him moving here post season, thought this was all about summer international comps.
I can't be arsed digging through previous comments but pretty much my 1st (maybe 2nd) was daring to mention Clough returning -- got slaughtered for that - so, ha!
Come On You Mightee Whites (see you in L1)

So:
Alnwick;
Burke, Wheater, Dervite;
Little, Henry, Vela, Ameobi, Robinson;
Walker, Clough
Morais at RWB, ALF, Beevers could do a job also. Pratley to come back. Struggling to see how Buckley, Charsley, Noone fit into that.
Or:
Alnwick;
Little, Burke/Wheater, Dervite/Beevers, Robinson;
Henry. Derik, Vela;
Ameobi, Walker, Clough;
Pratley improves the midfield.
We still look weak in midfield and up front. If Henry gets injured we are in real trouble in either system. We have little cover up front in a 4-5-1, which makes me think we are better suited to 3-5-2. Food for thought...
