[Lost Leopard Spot]

I'm being made redundant. It's my own fault, the multinational I work for are relocating the portion of the business I work for, and I refused the move.
In line with the relocation policy, and statutory notice periods etc., today was the first day I've met my 'replacement' in order to induct him/her over the next twelve weeks before I disappear forever.
Suffice to say that I've been in place for nearly a quarter of a century, having progressed up the ranks, from a starting position of having a degree [a science degree, admittedly, in an engineering position, but a degree nonetheless].

So, fxck me, in marches this kid this morning who will "be doing my job" in twelve weeks time...
S/he has an A level in Textiles. S/he freely admitted s/he doesn't know what a tapestry is: Is it "a kind of Muriel?" it inquired. S/he has absolutely no grasp of engineering. S/he has no knowledge of any industry standard acronyms. S/he doesn't know what a database is, despite the main function of my job being the smooth, efficient and accurate running of a very complicated, safety-critical database.

If you plan on travelling by rail anytime soon I suggest you sit towards the back of the train. Your chances of survival are greatly increased by that simple strategy.

Strangely enough, she was complaining about the extended compulsory wait 'til pension age for herself until very recently. Now that it's almost confirmed I won't be working anymore, she's suddenly quite keen to continue in her career for a few more years. I don't think it's entirely down to the "financial gap in our plans" either...

I always had Kiera down as a level headed, well educated and quite intelligent "person"(purely from reading and interviews etc)..so why is she banning her child from seeing "Cinderalla" on the basis of women persons not needing to be saved by men persons , and you shouldn't kiss a sleeping person.......in a fxxxing fairytale??? ...a fxxking fair-tale???

Since her child will presumably mingle with other children who might see such views as a little "wierd" considering the whole country's (worlds?) kids are currently about to celebrate Halloween, witches, ghouls, zombies and vampires....and stuff, and Christmas is approaching with all the magical things that only childhood can celebrate and appreciate like Santa, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings etc etc..(lets face it, 13 and and you're being called a wimp if you don't smoke, say "fxck" and worse) might not K's children be victimised because of her desire to be the sword swinging, long-bow shooting heroine of Camelot in real life? Childhood for most young persons is the happiest and most magical time of your whole life, let the kid persons have their times and see the benefits of imagination and magic, the realities of the rest will come all too soon.

What on earth are you blathering on about? "Dumb down the role of males". What? All she was trying to do was to show her daughter she can achieve anything she wants to and isn't reliant on a "man" to save her or for completeness. She may have done so in a bit of a clumsy way, but I'd have thought whatever its a good message.
