No Catholic has ever threatened me with death for not being a Catholic. I cannot say the same for Muslims... Therein lies my abhorrence of Islam and Muslims...

I have no doubt that many people who were Catholic in say 1620 threatened non-Catholics with death for being non-Catholic in that year. I would have been as fervently catholophobic then as I'm Islamophobic now.

Let me ask you three questions.
1. When was the last time that a white Anglo Saxon man suggested murdering you because you were not a white Anglo Saxon man?
2. How often have you been threatened with murder for not being a part of the culture the proposed murderer belonged to?
3. Have you ever been threatened with being murdered?

But you know, I have been threatened by what I assume are white English men. I don’t hold it against them all though. Cos that would be prejudiced.
I was also injured by a Catholic terrorist incident. Very minorly injured I should add. Though it was very scary. I don’t hate Catholic’s though.

Well I was. Not only me, but wife too. We survived. Two French women and a number of other westerners didn't. They were lined up and shot. This was many years before Twin Towers, where I once again note, during the world wide coverage of the events, from live transmissions from the streets of Rawalpindi, Karachi, Dubai, Cairo, Jakarta, Mogadishu, and many other places, Muslims were dancing in the streets celebrating the deaths of kuffars.
I quite honestly say to you that you are talking bullshit when you claim to have been threatened with death by any member of any society because you weren't a member of that society. Utter Bullshit. Unless it was because it was a Muslim doing the threatening. I have been on the wrong end of a Kalashnikov having to plead for my life by explaining why I wasn't a Muslim.

Well I had my own angry story today but I'm too interested to hear more.
Which incident were you caught up in Insane? Warrington? Manchester, Canary Wharf?
Spotty - that sounds terrifying. Would you be willing to tell the whole tale?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
As a religion Christianity was some 1620 years old in 1620 (if I have the maths right). Islam is not that old even today - perhaps when it is 1620 years old in a couple of centuries it will have matured to a more benevolent phase. I should also note one doesn't have to go back to 1620 or even two centuries to find Protestants and Catholics at each others' throats. Often it doesn't have much to do with any religion - religions are used for political purposes by ruthless and ambitious people.Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 4:32 pmMore like an evolution of civilisation.Enoch wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 4:16 pmAn accident of birth.Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 3:50 pmNo Catholic has ever threatened me with death for not being a Catholic.

Bruce, the fence of agnosticism is not a point of view - it's a failure to come to a point of view. But, again, we can agree that we are not threatening to kill each other over your lack of a point of view.
Enoch. I appreciate your sense of justice and balance in the world. Unfortunately I am tainted by experience.
BWFCi. We fail to understand each other on a visceral level. Just because all Rednecks are white doesn't make all whites abhorrent, but all Rednecks can remain abhorrent. What discerns a 'redneck' is what they think, what discerns a white is what they are born as. Whites aren't born rednecks! Nobody is born Muslim.
Monty. I don't have time, personally, for Islam to 'grow up'.
I also think it is a flawed comparison. Just because Christianity has 'mellowed' (has it?) doesn't mean Islam will, or can. Islam states it is a direct message from God. Interpretations do occur, but they are severely limited in their scope due the injunction that the Koran was God given. I know it's not; many people who have studied it know it's not; but no Muslim will ever admit it is not: If they did they wouldn't be Muslim.
Harry: I've posted the incident once before on here, I can't find it (Monty might have the link). I'll pm the details.
