As things stand, things will get very tricky down the middle if Dampsey gets a custodial sentence. I've not looked at the details of the trial, so not sure if that's a possibility; but sounds like it *should be* given the initial accusation.

I think BEN is reporting on reports in Germany. So who knows.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 10:11 amMind the BEN article is saying £500k in the headline - missed that bitofficer_dibble wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 10:03 amI reckon it’s a million, I’m not having he’s gone for £500k less than some league two geezer when he has 18 months on the contract.
Sad to see him go, but probably the best thing considering we're not playing to his strengths. Hopefully we've a sell on clause, just in case he finds some consistency

We do. St. Pauli's rep has spoken about it in Germany and Marc has said there definitely is one. How much (percentage, cap, etc) it is nobody is saying.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 10:30 amHopefully we've a sell on clause, just in case he finds some consistency

Aye, good luck with your next Bentley....oh, I mean Merc. Hope it doesn't turn out a "I wish I'd never left Bolton." Not meant to sound tardy, but it's a selfish world. Ah well, come on you Whites. Sonic's kettle is not for sale at any price... .......

We weren't playing in a way that really suited Dapo, TD - and it was pretty clear we weren't looking to change the way we play to suit Dapo. At 25, he doesn't really want to be playing in a L1 team where he's a "maybe" choice or an impact sub. You don't want to be sat there as a retired 35 year old footballer, wondering what might have been. If he's got a decent deal out of it on the way, good luck to the lad.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 11:08 amAye, good luck with your next Bentley....oh, I mean Merc. Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
At the moment we're worse off than when we started this transfer window. I'm sure that there is a bigger picture but hopefully it comes along soon. We've coped well against a tough set of fixtures and we've got a little easement (easier fixtures) after the Derby game (at least on paper).
Hopefully that proposed signing comes in.
Not sure Nlundulu is as good as Baka. We'll see in time, different option with a bit more pace perhaps. Randell doesn't look like a direct replacement for Dapo, but is an interesting option on that side, looking like good business so far.
With Dempsey's possible court issues, and Iredale's injury we could see ourselves struggling to keep momentum. Thankfully we've got Jones and Santos coming back, but even with that in mind it looks like an injury could cause a few headaches for Evatt.

Whether he can add the goalscoring feats of Baka last season is a question mark. But Baka this season was all in all fairly useless all round.

You'd be surprised what you have to do to go to prison!GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 10:29 amAs things stand, things will get very tricky down the middle if Dampsey gets a custodial sentence. Reports are suggesting they chose a jury trial rather than the Mags sending it up. If so the Mags didn't think it was going to lead to a sentence +6 months. Assuming he's got no record my don't-actually-know-exactly-what-the-allegation-is reckon would be community service/suspended sentence.

Don't know if this boy's been mentioned (and I'm not about to trawl through, so apologies otherwise) but apparently our Traffordian neighbours are looking to loan out a Shola Shortire.
a 'wonderkid', apparently.

Yeah he was discussed a few pages back. Seems to be substance in the rumour, and I've seen speculation that he may be announced this week.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 2:00 pmDon't know if this boy's been mentioned (and I'm not about to trawl through, so apologies otherwise) but apparently our Traffordian neighbours are looking to loan out a Shola Shortire.

Cheers, Chap. Rightly or wrongly I tend to assume that Salford will be ahead of us in the pecking order.The_Gun wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 2:05 pmYeah he was discussed a few pages back. Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
Big problem that, Charles seems to play better with Jon next to him and terrible timing with 2 forwards leaving.sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 3:54 pmAnd now we need another forward

So that leaves us Charles, Nlundulu, Kachunga. Could also try Sadlier there since he doesn't fit anywhere else.

At least we have money to spend on one now.
