Jones and Dempsey doubts for Wednesday according to Iles this morning. Of the two Dempsey would certainly be the bigger miss.

Play Bradley in midfield for Dempsey and Williams rwb (can he play?) Bradley offers the running and tenacity of Dempsey and even more ball carrying. It’s worth a try and think it might suit Bradley. Short of that I don’t see an option for Weds assuming Thomason is deemed not ready still.
Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
Can Mbete play Wednesday? Assuming he was at Huddersfield first half of season and not playing for Man City U21s in the pizza cup? So if Jones is out we only have 2 fit center backs.

As far as I can see, assuming they can only be cuptied by playing for another team in this season's competition (as opposed to some spurious competition-specific signing deadline)
CUPTIED
Adeboyejo
N'Lundulu
Shoretire
NOT CUPTIED
Mbete
Jerome
R Williams
Randy played v Pompey in the last round so if he's for some reason cuptied, we're in bigger trouble than we think

God, no. Why would you put a kid in a position he's never played in a semi-final when you have experienced options who can play?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 10:38 amPlay Bradley in midfield for Dempsey and Williams rwb (can he play?) We can play Lee or Sheehan as 8s, Kachunga at 10, etc. We have options without taking one of our best players out of where he's been so good this season and sticking him into a role he doesn't know.

Sheehan is soft as shite and will offer nowt at Accrington bar being a passenger.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 5:23 pmGod, no. We could put Lee there but it means Kachunga will start and Jerome and Charles. How do you change it if needed up front? Or for ET?

Sheehan won’t offer anything. We have Williams who can. And Bradley could be a great option in midfield.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 5:37 pmYou don't think some of our players should ever play, but they are needed.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 5:28 pmSheehan is soft as shite and will offer nowt at Accrington bar being a passenger.
It’s quite simple. Who would do Dempseys role best, and I would say out of what’s available it would be Bradley.
He’s not played it before but so what? Jones has rarely played right wing back but did a good job, previously he’d never played centre back but did a good job.
Johnston had never played wing back but did a job against FGR for a while.
We need to put out the 11 that gives us the best chance and my personal opinion is that is not Sheehan in midfield.

Well, we'll see what happens.
If Evatt puts Bradley in midfield then fair enough, for me it's an error to shift our most reliable outlet out of position to try and cover another issue - you risk just creating two issues where you had one. Shifting into central midfield from the wing is totally different from a fullback (who was a centre back as a youth player) moving to right of a three.
Sheehan, Lee and Kachunga are all fine for playing League One opposition. Kacha can do the leg work in midfield like he did yesterday when Dempsey went off. Sheehan can cover ground and cope with the rough stuff, as he did yesterday. Lee, we all agree, is a quality player. There's enough there.
You've got an image in your head of players that isn't related to what they actually do in front of you on a football pitch. That means that Sheehan and Kacha will never be answers to any issue we have in your head, but they can be on the pitch.

It’s nothing to do with images in my head. Sheehan is a bit powderpuff and I’ve not seen him make an impact in a game like Wycombe or Accrington will be. He is a space finder but I don’t see him finding much there.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 6:29 pmWell, we'll see what happens.

Bradley can cover ground like Dempsey and can carry it like Dempsey and can win it like Dempsey. Best solution is Dempsey is fit.
I ask again if Kachunga starts and Jerome therefore also starts up front who is coming on to change it for Jerome and Kachunga OR crucially for the possibility of extra time?

Personally I'd start either Kacha or Jerome, not both.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 6:33 pmIt’s nothing to do with images in my head. I'd play Dempsey at 6 with Lee and Sheehan as 8s. Then either the two forwards or Kacha as more of a hybrid 10 and Charles up front. I'd want numbers in the middle of a congested pitch against Accy. I don't think we need Dempsey's work rate as much as we need options and angles for players in possession and bodies close for second ball. The space will come out wide and I want Bradley's running there to exploit that.
My side would probably be: Traf, Toal, Santos, Mbete, Bradley, Lee, Dempsey, Sheehan, John, Kacha, Charles.
I'd feel a bit bad not starting Jerome, as I think he deserves a go; but it's a tough call whatever we go with.
Like I say, if Bradley starts in midfield fair enough. I'd just rather see our best outlet in his best position. Regardless, the bench will have to have B team players on it, you'd imagine. We may even need to use them, which will be a big challenge for them.

If Dempsey is fit it’s Morley, Dempsey and Lee. Not sure much question there.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 7:00 pmYour lips to God's ears and he is fit to play. And I suspect Kachunga with Charles.

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
I'd be very surprised if Jerome didn't start. Tight ground away from home, physical presence. He left Luton because he still wants to play rather than be bit part. On the bench for fellow Jan signing, Vic? Sure? Young kid from United who's worked well with Dion? I guess. For Kacha? Not for me.
Less surprised then if he played Bradley in midfield, like. If Dempsey is out, I'd assume it's one of Kacha or Sheehan, probs the latter.
