Also, regarding Santos he said that its not a specific injury as such its more of a muscular overload injury that he's been carrying - so why the feck does he never give him a rest, he played him in the meaningless cup on Tues knowing this.
Evatt is an absolute imbecile he really is.

You mean even with the power of symmetry and the ‘magic’ of Eileen Drewery combined we couldn’t win it?Prufrock wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 10:00 amI remember being a very excited 9 year old after reading in a horrible histories type book on the world cup that England were destined to win it because...GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 1:18 amDestiny wants us to beat Charlton. 3 points basically in the bag.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 10:19 pmIf we get a draw tomorrow and a win on Tuesday it'll perfectly mirror itself over 10 games,

Not only that, but the UK had just elected a Labour government, and we never win a World Cup under the Tories.Prufrock wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 10:00 amI remember being a very excited 9 year old after reading in a horrible histories type book on the world cup that England were destined to win it because...

For clarity, the "promotion-chasing" side in the factlet above is Bolton. To repeat: we haven't won consecutive games in the league (the only competition that matters) since October. And this when Evatt is under heavy manners to improve the team and prove himself.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 1:57 am6'7" powerhouse Leaburn against three centre backs who are 6' or under.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 1:28 amYeah we might win that, as we didn't today. Because this "promotion-chasing" side hasn't won consecutive league games since October.
We're bound to keep a clean sheet.
Only a matter of how many we score.
It's not working. So neither should he be. I wish him no ill will and I think he could be a good manager some day. But this train is off the rails and we need action now.

I now fear Evatt may try to rush back Eoin Toal and we'll lose him for the season.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 1:57 am6'7" powerhouse Leaburn against three centre backs who are 6' or under.

It's where I'm at. For the first time in my life yesterday I joined in the shouting for the manager's head. More to get the message to the board to act, rather than pile on Evatt, a bloke who, if he'd left after, say the Huddersfield home game, I'd have wished him all the best and thanked him for those good times.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 11:15 am

All that goodwill is fast disappearing now as he clings onto his job and his sense of reality.

It's not actually as bad as I thought it was, however its bad enough and another stick to beat him with. This will create an issue for Ms Brittan though because this will grow legs very quickly overnight and its not a good look telling your own fans to fcuk off on camera. It was also only a few weeks ago that she came out with a statement addressing issues of abusive language and behaviour etc. towards Evatt - I can't see how she can ignore this however strong there relationship is.
It also only sounded like boos, not anybody calling him anything personal - absolutely no need for his reaction

I don’t really have a massive issue with him saying that to someone who’s likely giving him abuse. However, I can’t recall a manager ever having come back from something like this.

There will be a statement from SB. It will say football is emotive, but everyone - supporters, players, staff - should respect each other and threats and verbal abuse are never acceptable. It will use the phrase "fell below the standards we expect". There will be a reference to the club being an integral part of the local community before ending on a "let's all pull together" note.

If we were in the promotion spots, I'd not care less about this. Lots to beat Evatt with at the moment and this is just something else.

I doubt it will get a statement. It’s been clear for a while he has complete contempt for the fans. In fairness it’s been clear to the fans for a while he’s a wrong un.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:26 pmThere will be a statement from SB. So I don’t think there is much to see here. He acted unprofessionally but I mean he got away with walking onto the file and head butting a young opposition player. He’s not going to be raked over the coals for this. Sharon likely holds fans in similar contempt.

This is largely the issue.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:29 pmIf we were in the promotion spots, I'd not care less about this.
Same lads going mental about club standards idolise Diouf.
People talking about decency in the dugout will laud Big Sam, who has none.
If it's the specific words he used then we can go to Sam against Everton in 2003. Or Jussi. Or Nolan. Or Diouf. Nicky Hunt told me to feck off because he thought me applauding him was sarcastic, whereas I was trying to gee him up - imagine how badly you need to be playing to assume nobody could possibly be nice to you.
Evatt should be sacked based on job performance. He's also a tool. I'd be amazed if this was seen as near a sacking offence, though. Unless they somehow felt they needed an excuse - which they don't.

The penultimate nail in the coffin if we lose tomorrow night. Cambridge have done us a favour releasing that, potentially.

Allardyce could afford his ego as he’d achieved things we had and never will see again.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:36 pmThis is largely the issue.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:29 pmIf we were in the promotion spots, I'd not care less about this.

Evatt can’t because he hasn’t and won’t.
Allardyce had the odd spat but generally ignored fans and what they said. Because he was confident in his own abilities.
I don’t think there is much to this either but this isn’t about football anymore. Evatt isn’t wanted in the same way Megson wasn’t. I was not a Megson outer but knew he had to go. Evatt is beyond that point now. He’s beyond the rubicon and there won’t be a conciliation regardless of results.
