If it's for the pull back then there were 2 other Bolton players back near the box. I think the letter of the law is a clear goal scoring opportunity.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:04 pmThey didn’t show a good angle but not sure what grounds we can appeal on unless there was clear cover in behind. He had ages to get a shot off. Plenty of chance to score and he's not took it. Morley did foul but that was at the point of Sheehan coming across. Clear yellow, possible red. I suspect it'll stand knowing our luck.DJBlu wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:07 pmIf it's for the pull back then there were 2 other Bolton players back near the box. Wasn't sure about that. The pull had already occurred when Sheehan went past, if you were counting him...

Linesman gave the red. Appeal has to be a clear mistake and looked a goal scoring opportunity denied. They won’t overturn a marginal decision - I think Sheehan got back in after the foul personally.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:11 pmHe had ages to get a shot off. I was as you could see him coming across when he's going to ground. Will have to watch it back, but I clearly remember Sheehan in the picture.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:12 pmWasn't sure about that. The pull had already occurred when Sheehan went past, if you were counting him...

Thomason WTF he needs another Longridge loan next season, another very poor performance today & Sheehan I honestly can't see the point, he's an absolute passenger.
Top 6 this lot....my arse.

I think the phrase is, "fecking hit it".
3 losses on the bounce now and I can't see us getting anything on Tuesday. The old ugly truth is rearing it's head.

We spent a million quid on Randall. I’m not sure there has been a worse signing in our history. Lad is an embarrassment. I’d send him to a primary school side as I suspect even that would be too physical for him.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:16 pmThomason WTF he needs another Longridge loan next season, another very poor performance today & Sheehan I honestly can't see the point, he's an absolute passenger.

It didn't seem like we were going for the jugular. Very much felt Evatt esque. You know the script, work the ball around the box and then pass it when the chance arises.
Shouldve been 2-2, at least. That CMG chance should've gone in.
Any club that studied Evatt's style of play would've been able to do what Blackpool did today. I like Schuey, but that performance was scarily reminiscent of Evatt's style of play.

CMG is already near the box and Sheehan gets close to the lad in the centre circle before he gets to the 18 yard area.

It was 100% an Evatt like performance, 71% possession, tippy tappy sideways & backwards crab football - no real threat upfront. We had the new manager bounce for a few games and now the players have reverted to type.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:20 pmIt didn't seem like we were going for the jugular. We desperately needed a goal and who have we got as a saviour to step up from the bench 'Etete'.
I know he can't until we are mathematically out of the top 6, but I'd love Schumacher to come out and 'say it as it is' about the teams poor mentality, lack of leaders, lack of bottle etc. and what needs addressing next season.

I would use the Wigan game as a public cry to tell the players that they are playing for their shirts and futures at the club. Find out who responds and can deal with the pressure of this club and who can’t. Top 6 is over but four defeats in a row and three to local teams at this level is and has to be regarded as absolutely rock bottom so must be avoided and every player has to be under immense pressure from their own pride let alone external factors. The fans are going to be at them and rightly so. The players haven’t shown the mentality and work ethic that Bolton wanderers demands.

I'd agree with Baxter, Morley & Dempsey (and Santos if he can get his head back in the game), maybe Collins but I'm not sure - he's a good player who scores goals but he goes missing in games like several of the players, if he would play like he did 2nd half against Orient the other week when he ran the show he'd be a absolute shoe in, but he does hide in games.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:02 pmHave no issue with Baxter. Johnstone. Collins. Morley. Cogley. We build round those. The rest I’m afraid aren’t it in the main. Sorry but that’s just the reality. We’ve spent a lot of money on some of these players and a few are beyond a disgrace for the fee we spent.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 4:59 pmThis - it's so obvious to many, a complete clear out is required in the summer, its been another Evatt like performance.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 4:42 pmWe need a summer and we need a lot of personnel changes. People keep letting this team flatter to deceive but there is a consistent pattern with them. When it really matters they revert to type and lose.
Lack of bottle. Lack of physicality and lack of real grit.
Three defeats in a row if thats what this becomes at this level for Bolton wanderers is shocking. Blackpool aren’t that good either. We are I’m afraid nowhere near promotion with these players. Nowhere near. And won’t be next season unless Schuey is properly backed. And Sharon has only herself to blame for this. So she better rustle up some investors.
There isn't any one player that I would be gutted if they left, they could all go every fecking one of them - they are all just so spineless & mentality weak - I actually feel sorry for Schumacher inheriting this bag of shite.
but, but, but we beat Birmingham....! at least Dave will be happy with his heroes.

We didn't play badly today - a couple of sloppy goals against and not clinical enough up top.
Same old same old.
These are good players who've largely proved it recently (until the last 3, obvs...).
They are not my heroes, but they are the players who play for my team, and as such I will support them until the start to deliberately play badly or throw the towel in.
And despite a couple on here being desperate to criticise and hate them at every opportunity, I don't see any evidence of them giving up

Dion Charles was in the away end apparently. Doubt his employers are going to be happy.

They are mid table in league one. And consistently have bottled the big games especially when we have half a chance of something. Surely nobody will be sad to see the back of a lot of them? They are hardly heroes are they? Cost a lot too. Either their mentality is poor or they aren’t good enough. But not sure it matters much which.dave the minion wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:47 pmFFS. Sorry DTM, the combination of "didn't play badly" and "couple of goals conceded" is a non-starter. This isn't cubs football.dave the minion wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:47 pmFFS. Dan was a worse decision given we’d seen him close up but as he cost less I feel Randall just edges him out. Must have been living in cloud cuckoo land. We are desperate for some power. Imagine a lad in midfield who just wants to power through and put their foot through a shot rather than dance round a challenge nutmeg themselves, do five drag backs in a row before passing it 6ft behind the man.
