Anyone see Andy Gray's Final Word thing yesterday? Spent 20 minutes explaining how Rooney could play up front alone for England in front of Gerrard, Lampard, Hargreaves, Lennon and Downingorsomeoneelselikethat. He persisted even when Keys pointed out that this was precisely the system that achieved feck-all for England last summer. Keys was brushed aside, didn't get chance to point out that Gerrard hates playing as support striker, that the team are confused enough as is, and that Rooney is far far far far far more effective running on to the ball.
besides which, the only evidence they showed was Rooney ripping apart some rubbing-rags in BWFC shirts. Don't know where they got that footage. I can't remember the last time we went to Old Trafford.

I'm seriously considering sacking it off in favour of much needed food before my birthday night out on saturday, especially seen as tho im going right of tal ben haim
lets face it whoever wins it will be a 1-0 job, or possibly a drab draw, so restaraunts will be quiet and then on with getting drunk after that, without being annoyed with mclaren!

This newspaper from after the futre has just fallen through a wormhole in the space/time continumenmen thing. OIr maybe it's an old one I've jst found laying around.
'...MCClaren said he was happy with the performance even though England rellied on a dubious penalty to beat Israel. 'I know we didn't play to the level we are capable of but it's qualification that's the important thing and once we've qualified then we can set about playing some good football.
Blah blah blah.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Bruce was referring, via the medium of Weller's finest lyrics, to his already having posted that response on the Trotters forum.officer_dibble wrote:echo?

Well I've just had news that the wife and kids will be heading up north without me this weekend, so I shall be watching amid beer and smokes in between a band rehearsal afternoon and a band recording evening. That should help take the mind off.

Bit worrying for anyone who planned to travel to this fixture:

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
To be honest, faced with a 0-0 on 90 minutes and for some inexplicable reason Ben Haim to take an Israel penalty, I'd probably want him to score it.
If Nolan was inexplicably playing for England however I'd probably not.
Which shows you how much I've grown to care about non-tournament matches, even qualifiers.

Well, I don't disagree ... but I wasn't aware this was in his area of responsibility ?Israeli-born super-agent Pini Zahavi has told Steve McClaren that if England lose to Israel on Saturday, he will be sacked. (Various)
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
