Er... she's been at the hospital visiting her husband on a life support machine, intending to go to work straight from the hospital?Hoolio wrote:A woman kisses her husband and leaves for work. As she is in the elevator/lift on the way out of the building, the electricity cuts out. It is off for quite a few hours. When it goes back on, the woman knows her husband has died. How?
I suspect such machines have some kind of alternative power source for such occasions, however.

You don't bury survivors
An explorer walks one mile south, then one mile west, and then one mile north and finds he is back where he started. Where is he? (There is more than one answer to this)

Presumably one answer is that he started one mile north of the spot near the south pole where the circumference of the earth is one mile. The other would be the north pole. And as for burying survivors I would hate to see an aircraft carrier fly across our border!chris wrote:You don't bury survivors

Yes. I removed the white bear element normally associated with that question to allow that answer.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Presumably one answer is that he started one mile north of the spot near the south pole where the circumference of the earth is one mile.
