Van Persil? Surely a joke nomination.
Whilst he's a good player he's a long long way off being the "best" in the world.
You have to win a few things before that can truly be said of you.
Part of being the best in the world is inspiring your side to win things and staying calm and focussed under pressure.
Kaka is probably the most complete attacking midfield player in the world and probably gets my vote.
Although I'd also have to consider Nesta and Terry as well.

But it would make judging him as a player a lot harder as he wouldn't be testing himself against the very best.Worthy4England wrote:Not sure that you should have to win anything to be the best footballer. If Kaka played for MK Dons, it wouldn't make him any less talented...
Winning trophies is a part of football, and some very brilliant players consistently bottled it on the big occassions and for me that means they wouldn't be the "very" best in the world.

Van Persie jas domestic cup wins, a premiership win (I think) and was part of a side that reached the champions league final - that's fairly decoratedBWFC_Insane wrote:Van Persil? Surely a joke nomination.

If I was a manager and I could pick any two centre halves, I'd have Nesta and Terry. Terry is as good a centre back as I've seen.Batman wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Van Persil? Surely a joke nomination.
