14. Stableford suits me me not playing much as it allows for my inconsistency and my odd shite hole. Doesn't home player have to give 2 courtesy shots..............?

and a reminder, just in case....

stableford points:

Based on your NET score for the hole you score points as follows..

Bogey - 1pts
Par - 2pts
Birdie - 3 points
Eagle - 4 points
Albatross - 5 points

The advantage to stableford is that ifyou have a really crap hole then you aren't out of the competition. If you get a 10 an a par 4, you just don't get any points as opposed to being 6 shots behind someone with par.

e.g. You have an 24 hanicap so on the following hole you get 2 shots
Hole 1 356yard par 4 stroke index 3

you hit 6 Gross, netted down to 4 with your two shots. Therefore a net Par, you score 2 points.

I think my old man will be playing with us, so that's another group that will have some local knowledge. He's off 13 usually, so I think he fits into Commie system at about 10.

.
In the interest of fair play, I've been cut to six since last time around, if that makes a difference to your handicapping.

Feck me.
Calf muscles.
Poorly thumbs.
Bad backs.

Straight out of the Gary Megson school of "tell everyone your injuries before you get whupped".

I'm gutted I can't make it, but looking at some of your handicaps - maybe not.

More gutted than you know, now it's here (large slice of green in there too somewhere), but hey-ho, have fun. Course looks great and I'll be watching the results with interest. Gives me a month or two to work on remembering how to play. Best of..

Ok, all three groups will now have a member playing in them. Apart from my dad and me, there is one more Bolton fan who plays at Northop, and he's said he wants to play tomorrow.

He's a bandit off about 14, so we'll have him down at 10 too.

I think that takes us up to 11... which isn't ideal for the pairs situation, but we'll work something out.

When you get to the club, if you don't recognise me, I'll be the one in the Greg Norman straw hat..... :D

Oh, and seeing as I'm not having to pay for the golf, I've got us a bottle of champagne to play for.

Ha, thanks for your efforts, but I think I might like to have a little think about who plays with whom, being as I am the only person who knows everyone involved!
