Hang on. It's not as though he didn't have any work lined up. And I know for sure that I'm worth a 4ucksite more dead than I am alive. Aren't you?
Given that Jackson was not in good enough physical condition to not die, I'm guessing the 50 concert series was a bridge too far . . .
There's rumours he was that out of it on scrips he thought he'd only signed up for ten. AT has it right though, his income was still phenomenal, yet he was spenidng $20mill more than he had cominh in per YEAR.

When you get to my age, young fellow, and can't insure your life for more than the cost of a funeral the "worth more dead than alive" gap closes quite a bit. If I took an annuity (which I have not yet) I would actually be worth more alive as dying would cost the lot.

Well, unless you're 'in' on the autopsies then I guess you are indeed 'guessing'.
May the bridges I burn light your way

That may be so, owd lad, but thebish, despite speaking with the wisdom of a thousand years, is nearer my age than yours. As was Michael Jackson.

This is quite true. He is/was apparently $500,000,000 in debt. It is thought with careful management and reduced spending, this debt will be cleared within two years after which the estate will be a goldmine. He died intestate. Doubtless the claims and custody suits will follow soon, and the lawyers will get rich. Indeed it might take more than two years to clear the debt with the sharks circling.

sorry to break it to you Bruce - but the whole age-wisdom thing is a myth!! (Monty looked it up on snopes and in Wikipaedia  ) I have met sooooooo many old people who are both monumentally stupid and utterly devoid of anything identifiable as wisdom...

maybe it would have saved a page of debate if I'd remembered to put some kind of a giveaway emoticon... 8)

anyway - to answer the question - with the amount I get paid - I am worth quite a bit more dead than alive... (in purely financial terms anyway!) - and I don't have whacko's debts...

Thanks, Bruno, I'm off to the local chemist. Don't expect to hear from me any time soon.
