RIP Robert , I'll never forget the pictures of you sitting next to the team bus and crying because of our first relegation into 2. division

Just said on 5 live that they think it was suicide. Hit by a train while parked on a level crossing, poor chap lost his daughter to cancer 3 years ago, all very sad. RIP hope you find peace in heaven.
If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England

You can't imagine the turmoil that must be in someone's head to do this ... given that he has another small child & wife and in every other way his life seems a magnificent one. It shows that money & fame can't cover everything.wovlad wrote:Just said on 5 live that they think it was suicide. I also agree with Tom that this touches other lives too, now.
Still, very sad indeed.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Can't beat a German woman for strengthKeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab wrote:Stop it.
Not your average WAG, from what I saw in her press conference earlier today. Just coming across as someone who's accepting that it's a very public death, rather than going into her shell and becoming a pariah by the press (tell me it wouldn't happen, I dare you).
I have a lot of respect for how his wife conducted herself at the press conference - very brave and dignified. Somehow got the impression, as I did from the doctor, that she almost expected something like this. Hope the poor lass gets some space now, as she's had a hell of a lot to deal with in the past few years.
